Mrs. Carol McGaughey, 90, of Brookland passed away Monday, December 19, 2022 at Liberty Park Senior Living. She was born March 22, 1932 to Eldridge "Buck" and Etta Futrell in Brookland. She graduated from Brookland High School in 1950 and was a member of Brookland Methodist Church. Carol enjoyed working in the yard, reading and being a seamstress. She and Charles McGaughey married in 1951 and were married 61 years.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; brother, Elton Futrell; sisters, Wilma Crain, Murleen Davenport, Lucille Cheshier and Jean Cudd.
Survivors include sons, Kelly (Wanda) McGaughey and Kevin (Angelia) McGaughey; grandchildren, Heath (MariAnn) McGaughey, Kyle (Autumn) McGaughey, Matthew (Elizabeth) McGaughey and Nathan (Luke) McGaughey; great grandchildren, Ryan, Regan, Ethan, Evan, Jackson, Waylon and Charlotte.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 28th at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home at 11:00 am, with Mike Smith officiating. Burial follows at Pine Log Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Heath, Kyle, Matthew, Nathan, Ryan, Ethan, Evan, her grandsons. Honorary bearers are Don Cheshier, Sonny Crain, Martin Crain, Rick Cheshier and Art Dixon.
Visitation precedes the service at 10:00 am.
