My deepest sympathy and prayers for Lenard's family. Lenard and I went to the police academy together (ALETA Class 84-D) back in June, July, and August of 1984. He was a great guy, full of spirit, helpful to the other guys, and a true leader. I was working for Conway PD and I eventually lost touch with him for many years after graduation, but had heard that he was still serving at Saline County SO. In my last 13 or so years in law enforcement, I was working for the AR State Capitol Police in LR. I guess it was a year or so before I retired (2012 maybe?), one day this guy walks into the Capitol and I immediately knew it was Lenard. We had both aged some, but I was pretty sure it was him, so I walked over to him and said "are you Lenard Lewis"? When he said yes, I told him who I was and we hugged each other and had a good visit for about 20 minutes or so. I was so glad I was able to reconnect with him again after about 28 years! Rest easy my brother. Looking forward to visiting again someday. Bob

Lenard was the best. He was one of the best deputies I ever worked with. He kept you laughing the whole shift. He never did tell me where “Okie Dookie” road was located. Your knowledge and humor will be sorely missed.
Geraldine you and your kids are in my prayers.

Debbie and I were sad to learn the news of Lenard’s passing. He was a great friend, always so kind and helpful to us on several occasions and we spent many a day and night together around Saline County at pie suppers and fish fries. We send our sincerest sympathies to his family and know you are in our thoughts and prayers. We were blessed that our lives crossed his and we will always cherish our friend.
