Harold LeRoy (Sugarman) Burnett passed away Friday, December 9, 2022. He was born on July 20, 1937 to his late parents, Albert and Mary Roxie Burnett. He was a member of Hebron Baptist Church and a Veteran of the Korean War.
Harold never met a stranger and he was a friend to everyone that he met. Harold had a passion for his scrap metal business and was a buyer of precious metals for over 70 years. He was a bricklayer by trade. Harold was always quick to help someone out.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 56 years, Betty Burnett. He and Betty enjoyed making memories with their time together traveling and meeting family and friends.
Sugarman is preceded in death by his son, Clayton Burnett and daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Tony Yates; also his brothers, Kenneth and Charlie Burnett and brother-in-law, Kenneth Thompson.
He is survived by his beautiful sister, Frances Thompson, which he adored and talked to every day. Also survived by his children, Margo (Roy) Patterson, Renee (Steve) Pledger, Cindy Burnett Baggett, Monica (Brent) Palmer and Marla (Kent) Bartlett His grandchildren which knew him as "Papa Sug" are Nick (Kayla) Pledger, Whitney (Nick) Rountree, Heath (Demi) Pledger, Keith (Anna) Pledger, Melissa Pledger Ridgeway (John), Jennifer Burnett, Marissa Burnett, Whitney and Linsey Bartlett. He had four great-grandchildren, Palmer, Parker, Liam and Cohen.
A celebration of life will be held at Hebron Baptist Church 18715 Kanis Road, Little Rock on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. with a visitation at 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. before the service.
Memorials may be made to Hebron Baptist Church.

Sugarman will truly be missed. I loved talking and joking with him.

We are so sorry to learn about the loss of Sugarman. Eddy said there would no one to go play in the ice and snow with again. And no more solving the problems of the world between them ever day. Sugarman was definitely one of a kind. I remember him with a huge heart and a joyful soul. He love to tease. He will be missed by many, especially his family. We love you Betty.

I loved Harold and his family. Even though I moved away 6 years ago, I talked to him and Betty weekly and loved talking to Harold because he always had fun and interesting things to talk about then loved talking to Betty. Prayers for all his family.
No words can express how sad we are for the loss of Sugarman. He and Betty have brought so much joy to my life for the past 40 plus years. Fond memories will keep Sug around for the rest of our lives. There will always be wonderful stories to share. Love you Betty and family. Pleace and prayers be with you.
