Beverly Joyce Peck

of Little Rock, AR

October 23, 1934 - November 17, 2022

Beverly "Joyce" Peck was born on October 23, 1934 in Enid, Oklahoma to Dwight and Edrie Power. They predeceased her, as did her husband of 48 years, Clifton B. Peck III, her son, Patrick B. Peck, and her sister Patricia Lambeth. She is survived by her daughter in law, Betty Peck; daughter, Patty Peck Christie and husband, Jeff; son, Dr. Cliff Peck IV and wife, Deane. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Payton Peck Wallace and husband Clint, Lindsey Peck, Cadden Christie and wife Margot, Cliff Peck (Beaux) V, and Cody Christie; and great-granddaughter: Cathryne (Ren) Wallace.

Joyce and Cliff lived in various parts of the US, until settling down in Little Rock, Arkansas, where they joined a group of charter members in founding St. James United Methodist Church. Joyce devoted much of her personal life to St. James, serving as Family Coordinator, Sunday school teacher, a member on multiple committees, and the Chairperson for the 2nd Capital Campaign, among many other acts of service. Joyce served as a Camp Aldersgate Board member, a UAMS Auxiliary Board Member, and a representative for the SMU Perkins School of Theology Board. Professionally, Joyce worked alongside her husband at their Chevrolet dealership, eventually succeeding him as dealer upon his retirement.

Joyce enjoyed cooking, traveling, hosting holiday events, and playing bridge with her many friends.

The family extends special thanks to Charlotte Butler Homecare and Associates (Charlotte, Felicia, Laniyah), Fox Ridge Assisted Living, Hospice Health Care, Peggy Sullivan, her close friend, Mrs. Ross Honea, and the many other friends who have given her and this family their love and care during her last months with us. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in her memory to the Endowment Fund of St. James United Methodist Church, the UAMS Hospital in her memory, or a charity of your choice.

Going through old emails I found our chain of emails in Feb 2015. My mother and I met her on our river cruise in end 2014. We loved her company. I tried to call both numbers. Disconnected. And then Googled and found this. I am very sorry I did not keep in touch. She was fun. She had travel plans to Russia. Our sincerest condolences to her family.

Joyce was a wonderful person & Christian. It was a pleasure to know her & work with her with church activities & events as I worked at the church.
I will always especially remember her being the first person to visit me after just coming out of emergency surgery to check on me. She was a very special person I thought so much of. A very special lady.

Joyce was our next door neighbor here at Country Place.
Opinionated but always left me with a smile!
She was truly a unique person that I am pleased that God let cross my path, and so many will have fond memories when they think of her.

I had the privilege of serving on numerous committees with Mrs. Peck at St. James United Methodist over a number of years. I had the opportunity to lead several of these committees and Mrs. Peck was very supportive.

I'm so sorry to hear of Joyce's passing. She was always so sweet to me and my Mom. She adored my Dad, working along side of him at Cliff Peck. I'll remember those days fondly. Joyce coordinated all the employees for a huge blood drive after my son was born with heart disease. She embraced us all with love and encouragement and I'll never forget her. Sending my prayers and love to you all. Suzanne

Joyce was a lovely and gracious lady. She and Cliff were pillars of St. James. Donald and I were blessed to have Joyce attend our Sunday school class periodically. Her contributions were pure "Joyce Peck" and added much to our discussions. We loved her and will miss her.

Joyce and Cliff were so gracious to Guy and me during our time at St. James. What lovely hosts they were and what vital church members!

May God give you peace, comfort, and many precious memories to lighten your grief.

I met Joyce about ten years ago when I joined St. James, and I was immediately welcomed into the wide circle of friends she had attracted. Upon the death of my wife Tish, Joyce hastily arranged a get-together at her home that confirmed her ability to reach out to folks who were encountering pain. She will always be remembered for her warm smile.
