Pamela Louise Curry

of Conway, AR

November 25, 1959 - November 27, 2022

Pamela Curry was born in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, November 25, 1959. On November 27, 2022 Pam went to be with her Lord and Savior after a brave 9-year battle with ALS.

She was preceded in death by her father, Louis F. Phoebus; mother, Glorice Dodds Phoebus and sister, Brenda Phoebus Richter. Survived by her loving husband, Rodney Curry and loving daughters, who were the joy of her life, Sarah Franklin (Jacob Franklin) of Conway and Jillian Richardson (Mark Richardson) of Little Rock; five grandchildren, who she loved beyond words, Emmett, Finley, Hayes, Sutton and Isla and a brother, Scott Phoebus of Gaithersburg, MD.

She started her career as a nurse in CCU at Baptist in Little Rock, then worked for Conway schools for 23 years as a school nurse. She loved taking care of the children and loved her coworkers. She was the epitome of a servant. She had such a genuine love for people. Her joy was evident in all things. She was the greatest of all time as a mother and grandmother. She set the bar and she will be missed beyond words. She was so grateful to all her dear friends, who visited her, who loved her, prayed for her, decorated for her and brought meals.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital and ALS Association of Central Arkansas.

A Celebration of Life will be held December 8, 2022 at Grace United Methodist Church in Conway at 2:00pm.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of such an incredibly giving soul. Pam was the school nurse when I taught at CSMS, and so many times she was the one to whom I would go when I had a student who needed assistance; she always had a solution. I went to her as well when I had questions about my own sons. I remember her always-gracious heart and the smile on her face no matter what she was dealing with. I pray for the family as they learn to live without her physical presence, but I know her spirit will live on in each of you.

I worked with Pam for years at CSMS. She was always so sweet and kind. I could trust her with anything. She was perfect in her role as school nurse but also made me feel like a friend. I followed along during her illness and was so inspired by her courage and positive outlook. Pam's legacy is her beautiful family and all of her friends who knew firsthand what an amazing person she was. She will be missed so much here on earth but I pray you all find peace in knowing God has healed her body and she is whole in Heaven!!

Pam was a beautiful Lady inside and out! She was a prayer warrior for me and my granddaughter when my granddaughter had surgery. She prayed daily for both of us and our families, even as she was on her journey through ALS. How brave and courageous she was, and always with a smile and kind word for others!! You will be missed sweet Lady!

I loved her smile, her laughter, her bravery. I got to know her through Bible Study Fellowship, our kids growing up together and both working at the High School.
May the God of all comfort and the Father of compassion guard your hearts and minds during this time. Gods children do grieve but we do not grieve as those who have no hope. PRAISE THE LORD for heaven and the hope of eternal life.

Pam was one of my dearest friends. We met in nursing school over 40 years ago. There is a group of about 8 of us that are known as “ the nursing buds”. We had so many good times and adventures while we were in school and became friends for life. We are still in contact with each other. Pam’s vibrant personality, beautiful smile and twinkling eyes will never be forgotten. She was one amazing person and is an inspiration to so many with her positive attitude. I will never forget “ sweet Pammie.” Forever in our hearts. I love you my dear friend . We will meet again.
