Gracie M. Marberry (Deen) went to be with the Lord and her late husband Bob L. Marberry on November 27, 2022, in Yellville, Ark. Gracie was born on February 13, 1932, in Tahoka, Texas, and married her high school sweetheart Bob on May 19, 1950. During Gracie's 90 years on Earth, she accomplished many things, including becoming a licensed practical nurse, working in quality control at Baxter Labs, and teaching special education at Mountain Home and Flippin public schools for many years. Gracie also was a long-time member of the Flippin Church of Christ.

Gracie is dearly missed by her brother John Paul Deen (Jean) and Bob and Gracie's four children John Michael, of Las Vegas, NV; Steven Layne of Flippin; David Lynn (Denise) of Flippin; and Janice Faye of Yellville. Gracie (lovingly referred to as ''Gammer'') also will live on in the hearts and minds of her 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. Gracie's family also wants to recognize and thank Gracie and Bob's friend and caretaker Laura Kibbe.

Gracie's family and friends will gather on December 3, 2022, at the Flippin Church of Christ to celebrate her life and honor her legacy.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., with the service beginning at 11 a.m and will be officiated by John Carey and Jeff Crawford.

Interment will follow at Flippin Cemetery.

My heart is aching with the loss of Gracie. When I was small, Gracie watched out for me. When our mother passed away, Gracie took me in. She was everything a big sister should be. She leaves a big hole in my heart.... John

Gracie came into my life 61 years ago when I married her "little" brother. I have so many fond memories of her and Bob. She was never my sister-in-law, but truly my sister-in-love. Thank you, Gracie for being in my life... Jeannie

Some of my earliest memories revolve around you and Poppa. Meaning I can’t remember a time when you weren’t in my life. You have always been around for me. Sundays after church playing cards, staying with you when my parents were out of town…y’all even came to all my concerts and programs at school. I realized long ago how incredibly lucky I was to have such wonderful grandparents in my life. I’m sorry if I never told you that. I hope you knew how much I love you and how often you are on my mind. I knew one day we would say goodbye, but I was never ready for that day. I will think of you every time I play Phase 10, remember “paying” you a “quarter” (kiss) for a soda, and I’ll even say to Jesse from time to time, “Who do you think you are, Mother Goose?!”. My Gammer and Poppa will always be in my heart. I hope you are rejoined in your afterlife and together at peace. Thank you for the years of laughter and love!

My heart broke when I heard of Gracie's passing. In the 70's Gracie and I worked together at the Lab. She and I rode together, everyday, back and forth from Flippin to Mountain Home. We talked, laughed and always had a good time. Gracie had a wonderful heart and a great spirit about her. She always was one to speak her mind and had such a quick wit. I've been living in California for years now, but we kept in touch through cards, letters and long conversations and laughter on the phone. I spoke to her on her 90th birthday and she was so happy to have reached the milestone. I picked the phone up to call her last Tuesday but stopped because I thought she might be having a family gathering. I'll always regret not making the call. She was such a wonderful friend. My condolences and prayers go out to the family. She often spoke of how much she missed Bob and now I can feel them together in the heavens above. My love of Gracie, is being sent to her family and hope that you find comfort in knowing that she is and always will be watching over you.
