Darwin Ying Chen, 51, of Little Rock passed away on November 11, 2022. He was born on May 15, 1971 in Beijing, China to Wenkai Chen, and Shulan Cao.
He graduated high school from Si Zhong and earned a Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering from Beijing University of Technology. After working in Hong Kong for a year, he moved to the United States and earned a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 1997. He then went on to work in Dallas from 1997 to 2005 until he joined Snap-On Equipment in Conway as a Senior Engineer for 17 years. Darwin was very active in his community and enjoyed playing tennis and soccer with Calix. He served on the Committee of Little Rock Chinese School. He was responsible for organizing a book drive for schools in Yancheng China and coordinating several mask donations to local hospitals and firefighters during the Pandemic.
He is currently survived by his two sons, Kevin Chen and Calix Chen; one sister, Yuan Chen and his parents, Wenkai Chen and Shulan Cao.
Darwin was a fan of all things relating to the Texas Longhorns. He loved to play cards with friends, watch war films and read about Chinese history. He enjoyed traveling internationally and visiting various national parks domestically.
A funeral service honoring Darwin will be held at the Roller-Chenal Funeral Home on Saturday, November 19th at 3:00pm. Additional visitation hours will be 6:00-8:00pm Friday, November 18th and 2:00-3:00pm Saturday, November 19th at the Roller-Chenal Funeral Home.

One hundred years of cultivation can cross the same boat! We just had a cruise trip in the end of May of 2022! He was very active! He ran, took a lot of pictures, played cards with us etc!
