Ed Daniel was one of the most generous and caring men I have ever met. I was employed by Mr Daniel at his law Firm at Financial One for almost 3 years. Mr. Daniel Was so intelligent and would challenge me to learn things that I didn’t think I could learn how to do. Every morning he would say “top of the morning to you”. He loved multicolored sweaters in the winter time and would always tell me about his Saint Louis cardinals baseballs and who were the important players and who weren’t. I had a collection of some St. Louis Cardinals baseballs and I gave them to Mr. Daniel some of them were meaningful to him and the other ones he said he would still keep. Mr. Daniel used to take me to lunch every single day Unless one of us had prior commitment or an appointment somewhere else. Many times we would eat lunch Bobby’s in Little Rock over off of Shackleford Road. So many places he took me to eat that I had never been to in my life one of those places was the Clinton museum had a restaurant over across from downtown and I had never been there to eat and he took me there and told me all about it and we had some delicious food that day. Another time he took me to the oyster bar on Cantrell Road and it was so delicious. We always found good conversation to share and laughed about so many things. If I was depressed or down about anything, he would always cheer me up and tell me “do not worry about it” and that “life is too short to be upset or mad about anything”. When I published my first book in 2018 I was still working for him and I had book signings at different Barnes & Noble’s and different cities on the weekends several restaurants in Little Rock North Little Rock allowed me to have book signings. Mr. Daniel came to 4 of my book signings in the first six months. I’ve known people for years that didn’t even show up at one but he cared and he wanted me to know that my accomplishment … that it mattered. He will be so greatly missed I am so very sad and disappointed, that I was not informed of him passing away. I’m very distraught that I could not send flowers or even come to his funeral to honor him. I’m extending my condolences to his family at this time through this post. He was one in 1 million. I will miss him very much.

I recently had an opportunity to work with Ed on a case that was being handled by Cade Cox. He was funny, smart, witty and a joy to work with. Never a dull day when you got a call from Ed. I hope the family knows that he touched anyone he came in contact with. Prayers to all the family

Ed and I had offices in the same executive suite, and for over 30 years we swapped stories and tales of all the things we had a common interest in. We spent hours discussing the St. Louis Cardinals, as well as sports in general. My Memphis roots fascinated Ed, and we frequently discussed Sun Studio, Stax, & Jerry Lee Lewis. Ed had many tales of his early career as well as events in Little Rock and Hot Springs. Whenever I realized I was hearing a story I had heard before, I was still delighted, like I was hearing favorite song being played again. It was always a treat to spend time with him, and already I have encountered a backlog of things I wanted to tell him and discuss with him. I miss you, my friend. Peace and comfort to his family and the many others who mourn his passing.

Ed, the man with many hats. We already miss you buddy!

The lawyer, the father, the grandpa… the cowboy, the story teller, the music writer, guitar playing, blues lover, world traveler and #44 softball player… I mean you DID life. You lived it to the fullest.

The last few years, after us knowing you, for around 30 years, have been the most fascinating and rewarding to really get to know you. We found through that tough skin, is a humble, kind and caring man.

We’ve had so many good times sharing stories, life, and helping each other through good and tough times.

I’m going to miss the calls, the jokes, the stories, the journey of your life and you.

God speed Ed! We love you buddy❤️

I'm in a state of shock, I just received a text, and literally just had a reunion lunch with Ed a couple months ago after MANY MANY YEARS we had not seen each other.

Ed was my MENTOR IN THE FIELD OF LAW after I worked for him briefly following my husband s death in 1977 in NLR at age 24.

Ed and I stayed dear friends, when he came to St Louis to watch OUR treasured Cardinals play, we got together of course! Another one of his many passions, and I can't believe I'm writing on his obituary guestbook, as I only just learned he had passed!

I was in the middle of relocating back to Ar and was driving back and forth to and from St Louis for my job.

I grieve with Eds family and friends, and share your pain!

Dear God, I pray he's resting, e-z riding across the Heavens on one oif his favorite horses, smiling with joy at us through our tears!

I always received the most unique Christmas card from Ed every year, and I looked forward to getting them! What now will I do?

I'm so so so sad to hear this news. As we were planning another great dinner together, I loved you Ed Daniel, then, and I ALWAYS WILL. I've just lost a TREASURED LIFETIME FRIEND. GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILY, I SEND ALL MY SYMPATHIES, PRAYERS AND LOVE.

I had the pleasure of working for Ed afterhours helping him with his books when I first moved here 15 years ago and ever since. Anything he needed help with from going through files to decorating for Christmas, I was there. He was a good man and I loved hearing his stories. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. He will truly be missed.
