Robert ''Bob'' A Daye of Mountain Home, AR passed away on October 27, 2022. He was born in Chicago, IL to John Daye and Pauline (Udovitch) Daye on April 5, 1934.
Bob served in the U.S Marine Corp for two years and in the US Army for three years. He was in the 11th Airborne Division and the 187th Regimented Airborne Team.
He married his first wife, Patricia Slowicky, on October 19, 1957. He was employed at Lasham Motors in Chicago for many years. He then retired and moved to Arkansas. He and Pat operated Pat and Bob's Liquors in Missouri. Bob sold the stores in 1983, as he was studying to become a Deacon in the Catholic Church. He was ordained a Deacon in 1981 and served at St. Peter's Catholic Church from 1981 to 2001.
Bob married Joann (Picciolo) Glavan, on July 20, 2002 at St. Peter's by Father Stan Swiderski. This year was their 20th anniversary.
Bob is survived by his wife, Joann; one brother, John in Chicago; children, Maureen (Tom) Daye, Karen Daye, Jeff (Janice) Daye and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob is also survived by Joann's family, Phil(Kim), Pat(Bob) and Marty(Anne) and their children and grandchildren.
Bob is preceded in death by his first wife; five brothers; two sisters and one nephew, Richard Daye.
Bob was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 3246 and Fraternal Order of Elks #1714 of Mountain Home, where he was the Exalted Ruler in 1994.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society or to St. Peter's Benevolent Fund.
The Visitation will be held at Roller Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from 4 pm-6 pm, with a vigil to be held from 4 pm-5 pm.
The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church at 10 AM with burial to follow at Baxter Memorial Gardens.
