Shirley Faye Caples, 80, of Jonesboro, AR passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Ridgecrest Nursing Center. She was born September 29, 1942 in Mississippi to Carl and Gladys (Nelson) Collins. Shirley worked for 40 years at G&K Laundry until retirement. She was of the Baptist belief and loved to clean.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 25 years, Jerry Caples and two brothers, Bobby and Alton Collins.
Those left behind to cherish the wonderful memories of Shirley include her sons, Robbie (Kim) Polsgrove and Randy Caples; a daughter, Brenda Painter; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
No services are scheduled.
Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.

Hate to hear about Shirley. She was a good woman. Very open and straight forward, what you see is what you get. It's often refreshing in a world where the face you see on people and the polite smiles never reach their eyes. She was always friendly to me and always made a point to say hi when she saw me. It may not sound like much but I always got the feeling it was her way of saying you're ok, you're someone worth knowing. Good souls are hard to find these days. I send you all my prayers. I know you will miss her.

Mrs. Caples worked with my late husband, Allen Burrow, at G&K for quite some time. He thought the world of her, as she was always so kind. When he became ill, Ms. Shirley (as he called her) would check on him and never failed to offer an encouraging word. When he was off work, she helped to organize a small food drive, and bought our daughter Christmas gifts. At his death, she was a blessing to me and my daughter, Annabella. God rest her sweet soul.
