So sorry to read of Jim's passing. I first met him when he moved back to Clinton upon his retirement and joined Friendship Baptist. He was a very interesting individual and someone you felt comfortable being around. He certainly will be missed by his family and friends in Clinton. I rejoice that he is in the presence of our Lord.

Bob and I will miss Jim so much; what a wonderful man! We shared many birding trips with the local Audubon Club, and outdoor walks at South Fork Nature Center as fellow docents, and lunches at the Senior Center. He always had a story and a smile and a helpful way that endeared him to so many. His knowledge was vast and a great asset to this community. Happy trails, Jim, go in love and peace.

James snd my daddy were cousins, so we were related too.
When I was a little girl, we lived in Happy Hollow. I remember getting off the school bus at Layne’s Store and walking home. James and Don Bentliff walked also and they were my pprotectors. One Thanksgiving we got our of school at noon. That was a special holiday.
James moved away and later, I did too. After he moved back, we saw him occasionally, and he was always the same.

So very sad to hear of Jim's passing. Such an interesting person to talk to, with his vast knowledge of insects, etc. I became acquainted with him at the Senior Center dances where he and Vernice were great supporters. He will be missed. Deepest sympathy to the family.
