Sharon Ward

of Damascus, AR

January 8, 1952 - October 3, 2022

Nancy "Sharon" Wiedower Ward, 70, of Damascus, Arkansas passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in Guy, AR.

Sharon can be best described by King Solomon in Proverbs 3:15-16. "She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. 16 Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor".

Sharon was a homemaker, caregiver and retired from being a receptionist at NBMC to be a Nanny to her granddaughter's Faith and Hope. She was a member of Cove Chapel Church in Martinville where she served God as Nanny to any and all children. You can't think of Sharon without thinking of Jerry Don. God knew before the foundations of the world that He was going to create a power couple in Damascus, AR by joining a young man and woman who were raised on local dairy farms and had no idea when they played as kids and watched their Dad's and Mom's play Rook card games that they would end up falling in and livin' on love. They built their life on faith in Jesus and the values they learned while working on their family farms: hard work, determination, sacrifice, humility and perseverance. Sharon embraced her role of wife and mother and faced her challenges head on, while Jerry Don worked hard outside the home to provide for his family. She made their two-bedroom house trailer a special palace for their pride and joy, Blake and Julie. She was a loving wife, mother, Nanny/Nana, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to all that knew her. She had a heart of gold, great sense of style, with a quick wit and a no-nonsense approach to go with it and you never had to wonder where you stood with her.

She built a lasting legacy of faith, hope and love with Jerry Don, and the greatest of these is love. After a tough year and a half with her health that kept her from doing things she enjoyed, God saw she was getting tired, longing for heaven and to be reunited with her lifelong sweetheart, God saw fit to make that happen on what would have been their 50th wedding anniversary year. God's plan is perfect even when we cannot see.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Don Ward; parents, Druley and Hazel Stacks Wiedower: sister, Sue Harrison, and brothers, Eugene "Gene" Wiedower and Gary Wiedower and grand dog, Mattie Nicole Carmichael and grand cat, Patches Elaine Carmichael.

Left to cherish her memory are daughter, Julie Carmichael; son, Blake Ward; granddaughter's, Faith and Hope Ward; Julie's husband, Alan Carmichael; Blake's girlfriend, Loura Flowers and her daughter, Abby; two grand dogs, Allie Grace Carmichael and Harold the Handsome Ward; sister, Frances Stone; special niece, Sheila Martinez; special friend Wendy Johnston, nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends.

Pallbearers are Nick Martinez, Josh Holden, Hal Naylor, Rick Bryan, Jon Stanton, Jacob Hogan and Peter Hance

Honorary pallbearers are her nieces, nephews and anyone that knew her as their Nana/Nanny.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 4, 2022 from 6:00-8:00PM at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier, AR. Funeral Service will begin at 10:00AM Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Roller McNutt, with Burial following at Spires Cemetery in Damascus, AR.

Sharon was such a beautiful person. She reared beautiful and kind children. She and Jerry Don loved to serve the Lord and were the epitome of children of our Savior Christ Jesus. I pray the Lord will wrap His loving arms around you all, give you grace, strength for the days ahead and peace knowing she is with Jesus.
