Harold Kimey Grimmett, Jr., born on October 23, 1941 in Little Rock, passed away on September 26, 2022. He was 80 years old. He was preceded in death by parents, Harold Kimey Grimmett, Sr. and Carletta Vivian Andreae Grimmett.

As a child he attended Oak Forest Methodist Church. Harold was a member of The Boy Scouts of America Troop #50, Quapaw Council, Order of the Arrow and a counselor at Camp Quapaw. He attended Little Rock Central High School and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Biology from Arkansas Tech University in 1965. After college, Harold spent time in Winimac and Mongo, Indiana as a Fish and Wildlife officer.

Returning home to Little Rock in 1975, Harold became the first Director of the Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission. He established a system for acquisition and a Registry of natural areas and performed duties relating to the use, management and preservation of Arkansas' natural features. Harold served in this position for more than 20 years. He completed his professional career working for Arkansas Secretary of State, Charlie Daniels.

Harold was an avid hunter and lover of dogs and cherished his 25+ year membership and true friendships that were made through the Pin Oak Hunting Retriever Club. He served as Club President in 2010. He trained two Chesapeake Bay Retrievers to be Hunting Retriever Champions. Harold was a licensed Finished Judge for the Club and had over 40 judging assignments in 6 states during his judging career.

Harold is survived by his sister, Andreae K Grimmett Hoosty (Capt. Joseph R. USCG Ret.); daughters, Andreae Kimey Grimmett Pitcock (Chris), Kerry S Martin (Kevin); stepson, Justin Mitchell (Lauren); grandchildren, Brigid Chapman (Donald), Madison Pitcock, Sarah Martin, Ashleigh Martin, Mia Mitchell and Emmy Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Jackson Pitcock and Rayann Chapman; uncle, Jere Kernodle of Wynne, AR and many beloved cousins.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm Friday, October 7, 2022 at Roller Chenal Funeral Home and will include a memorial service at 6:30. A graveside service will be scheduled at a later date.
