Yvonne Limbaugh Wood

of Little Rock, AR

March 22, 1927 - September 16, 2022

Yvonne Limbaugh Wood passed away peacefully on Friday, September 16, 2022 at the age of 95. Yvonne was born March 22, 1927 in Jacksonville, Florida to parents, Ione Lewis Limbaugh and Douglas Bennett Limbaugh. Yvonne married Harrison Bassett Wood, Jr. on August 7, 1949. They both attended the University of Florida on the GI Bill. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and was awarded honorary memberships to Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Beta Kappa. Yvonne was a homemaker, tirelessly caring for Harry and their three children. Harry`s work required the family to move multiple times and she always made new friends at each location. She was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, and going to estate sales. In 1985, when Harry retired, they moved to Athens, Georgia where they lived for the next 29 years. In 2014, they moved to Little Rock, Arkansas to be closer to family. Yvonne was preceded in death by Harry, her husband of 65 years and her oldest daughter, Linda Wood Parmenter. She is survived by her son, David Wood (Michelle) of Naples, Florida; her daughter, Susan Page (Hank) of Little Rock; son-in-law, Guy Parmenter of Cartersville, Georgia; grandchildren, Stuart Parmenter, Andrew Parmenter, Julie Parmenter, Catherine Wood Hill, Matthew Wood, Walker Page and Helen Page and five great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 10 am, September, 22, 2022 at Riverwood Memorial Gardens in Maumelle, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Salvation Army or the Arkansas Food Bank. The family offers a special thanks to the staff at Fox Ridge Chenal, House of Three, Samantha Watt, APRN and Dr. Tulunay Uger, MD, for the compassionate care they provided Yvonne during her time in Little Rock.

Very thankful I had the opportunity to meet Yvonne in her last days. Can only imagine the richness of her life but her soft voice and lovely smile brought a peace being in her presence. Condolences to her family .
