Samuel Harold Wooten, 92, of Franklin, Tennessee passed away Sunday, September 11, 2022 at NHC Franklin. He was born February 21, 1930 in Parkin, Arkansas to Samuel Clifford and Dot Morton Wooten. Sam received his Bachelors of Science from Arkansas State University and worked with the United States Department of Agriculture. He was a member and Deacon Emeritus of Triune Baptist Church and was in the US Air Force and the US Navy Reserves. Sam enjoyed golf, fishing, hunting and reading.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, A.C. Wooten, John D. Wooten, Cecil Wooten and Robert Wooten and sisters, Essie Simpson and Mable Turner.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Mary Faye Person Wooten; sons, Byron Wooten (Jane) of Gates, Tennessee and Mark Wooten of Chapel Hill, Tennessee; daughter, Sondra Warner (Darrell) of Franklin, Tennessee; grandchildren, Sandy Wooten, Michael Wooten (Mari), Christopher Wooten (Rachel) and David Warner and great grandchildren, Keala Wooten, Jack Wooten and Ren Swan Wooten.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Roller Citizens Funeral Home, 201 N. Pine Street, West Memphis, Arkansas with Rev. Reed Buntin officiating. Burial will follow at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion.
Visitation will precede the service beginning at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
