Larry "Popcorn" W Allcorn

of Mountain View, AR

June 23, 1956 - September 13, 2022

Larry ''Popcorn'' Allcorn joined his Savior on Tuesday, September 13, 2022. He passed away at Mountain View Hospital. Larry was born in Mountain View, AR on June 23, 1956. He lived in Mountain View his entire life and couldn't have imagined living anywhere else. Larry married his wife, Linda Everett Allcorn, on April 4, 1981. He and his father-in-law, Sam Everett, built his family home and had it move in ready for after he and Linda were married. He lived in that home the remainder of his life where he and Linda raised their son, Andrew. Larry took exceptional pride in maintaining his property and always said if it was worth doing, it was worth doing right. He was a passionate and highly skilled carpenter and took pride in doing the job right. For the last five years of his career, he spent it working with his son, Andrew, almost every day. He also put in many long hours helping to build his son's home over the last two years. Larry was an exceptionally hard worker with a deep-rooted sense of work ethic. He was working until the day he died. He was a dedicated, faithful husband for 41 years. He was a present, stable, providing father for almost 30 years, and he was a loving and doting father-in-law. In one of his most beloved roles, he was the greatest ''Pop'' for eight weeks. Larry was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church for 17 years and served as a deacon there. He enjoyed singing in the choir and teaching Bible class. He taught class and attended church with his family the last Sunday of his life. Larry served on the board of the Luber Schoolhouse along with his wife, son, and daughter-in-law, something that he took pride in and enjoyed doing as a family. Larry never met a stranger and loved visiting with anyone, especially those he could pick at and make laugh. He loved to hunt and instilled the same love in his son, Andrew. He was a professional ice cream eater and had an insatiable sweet tooth. He had big plans with his new granddaughter, Charlotte, and adored her intensely.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Drewie Allcorn.

Larry is succeeded in death by his brother, Harold Allcorn and wife Susan, his aunt Myrl Allcorn, wife Linda Allcorn, son Andrew Allcorn and wife Lauren, granddaughter Charlotte Allcorn, along with numerous in-laws, cousins, nephews, and nieces who loved him dearly.

More importantly than anything else that can be said about Larry Allcorn, is that he was a man of faith and confident in his salvation. He loved the Lord and raised his family to follow Christ, as well. In his notes that he was preparing for his church lesson, on the last page, he had written ''on my way to Heaven the journey and it gets sweeter every day.'' Although we are left broken hearted without him, we know that through our salvation, death is not where it ends, and we will meet again one day.
Visitation is Friday, September 16, 2022 from 10:00AM-12:00PM at Roller Crouch Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services will follow the visitation beginning at 12:00PM with Brother Gary Don Fletcher officiating. Interment is at East Richwoods/Case Cemetery in Mountain View, Arkansas.

Pallbearers are Kent Allcorn, Mark Davis, Isaac Blakenship, Keith Everett, Mike Everett, and Dawson Everett. Honorary pallbearers are Harold Allcorn, Tom Everett, and Bill Prichard.

Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.

My heart is broken for you Linda and your precious family. Larry was a person that always had a smile and would talk your ear off. He probably never met a stranger. The note he left on the tablet brought tears to my eyes but Larry knew his time on earth was coming to a close. God needed His special Angel in Heaven. One day we will see our loved ones again🙏🏻 What a glad reunion day that will be💗 Lots of love to you and your family❤️

If you didn't like Popcorn you probably didn't like anybody. He grew chickens in his grandpa, A.K., chicken house on the Luber Road part of the time when I was the field man for that area. It was barely a barn, but with Popcorn, he was always at the top of the chart! No one but Popcorn could have done that. God Bless his family. Our prayers are with you.

3 weeks ago on Sunday morning, Libby/I were attending PGMB Church, Larry met us at the door, in the same way he always did. We always appreciated that, we will miss that friendly greeting from Larry, each time we attend. May God be the Comfort, Strength, Courage the family needs at this time. Jeremiah 29:11
