Timothy Hayes Mitchell

of Little Rock, AR

September 22, 1953 - September 2, 2022

Timothy Hayes Mitchell, 68, passed away Friday, September 2, 2022 at UAMS in Little Rock. He was born September 22, 1953 in Varnville, South Carolina to Mildred Hayes and Billy Gene Mitchell.

Tim graduated from Central High School in Helena in 1971 and the University of Arkansas in 1978 with an agricultural degree. Growing things was his passion, he was happiest with his bare hands in the soil. He knew the Latin names and care of most plants. He always had a dog, usually Chihuahuas, because they were little and cute. Tim loved wearing hats, as he left a trail of them behind. One of his favorites was the flat cap, he had this style in many colors.

He lived the past several years in Maumelle, spending time with his dad and siblings. We will cherish those memories of growing a garden, landscaping our yards and spending time on Lynda and David's back porch.

Tim was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Jeannie Andrews Mitchell and a brother, Joe Mitchell.

He is survived by his son, Tim Mitchell (Allison) and daughter, Kimberly Mitchell and a granddaughter, Willow. He is also survived by his sister, Brenda (BJ) and husband, Ken and his brother, David Mitchell (Lynda), all of Maumelle; nephews, nieces and cousins.

A private family celebration will be held at a later date.

.Tim was a good-hearted person. He was quick-witted and fun to be around. I loved him, as he has been part of my family since 1969... he taught me to read.
