Monica Lou Starnes Rew, 83 was born March, 24, 1938, in Tipton County, Tennessee and died at home in Little Rock, Arkansas on February 1, 2022. She was preceded in death by her mother Rachel Geneva Freeman and her father Roy Irwin Starnes as well as her half brother "Buddy" Starnes. She is survived by her three children, Michael (Lisa) Rew, Ashley Jensen, and Charlotte (Liz) Cline-Rew, two grandsons, Tyler (Kristen) Hill, and Zackary Rew, and one great-grandson, Hayden. Words cannot explain the love we shared and the sorrow we feel in her absence.
Monica graduated from Little Rock Central High School in 1956 and was later educated at Baptist System School of Registered Nursing. She enjoyed a long career as a registered nurse specializing in therapeutic apheresis, renal dialysis, and surgical nursing. Her favorite hobby was time spent with her dogs Noah and Rueben in obedience and agility training.
Her service will be held on August 25, 2022 at 1 pm at Saint Mark's Episcopal Church, 1000 North Mississippi Street, Little Rock, AR 72207. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pulaski County Humane Society.
Sorry for the loss of your Mother, I know she is missed by all,
Love, Darwin & Patty
I met Monica through her daughter Charlotte around 1984. Monica was a very pleasant Lady and devoted mother, with a fierce independence to support others while making her own way. Condolences to her family who saw her through her final years.
