January 9, 1943 - July 18, 2022

Ruth Ann Farrar, 79, of Clarksville, Arkansas passed away Monday, July 18, 2022 in Clarksville. She was born in Clarksville January 9, 1943 to John R. and Marie (Jennings) Selby. Ruth Ann was a member of Mt. Vernon Church of Christ. She graduated from Harding University in 1965, going on to teach home economics at three schools, including the Arkansas School for the Deaf. After Ruth Ann's retirement from teaching to raise her two daughters, she continued to be active in church and with her small businesses. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, visiting the forests and mountains of the Ozark Mountains, cheering on the Razorbacks and Harding Bisons and cooking.

Ruth Ann is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, John L Selby.

She is survived by her husband to whom she was devoted for 54 years, Paul Farrar; two daughters, Rebecca and Ben Dawdy of Lincoln, AR and Sylvia and Russel Hiatt of Searcy, AR; nine grandchildren, Anna-Marie, Briar, Bonnie, Hannah, Abigail, Josiah, Zebulon, Angus and Levi Dawdy and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022, from 6-8 PM at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Ruth Ann was a friend since we were in the first grade together at Sallis School. I was in awe of Ruth Ann even back then because she was so smart and knew all her colors.

Ruth was a very special lady...easy to appreciate as her love and spiritual values were a part of her daily life. It was always an honor to be around her. It has been many years since seeing her, but the memories of growing up with her remain strong!! Heaven has gained a wonderful asset and she will sorely missed. I grieve with the family, but am joyful that her beautiful smile will be for us in eternity!!!!
