September 29, 1938 - June 22, 2022

Frank Nelson Mangrum, age 83, of Harrison passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at his residence. He was the son of Doyle Silas and Eunice Lee Daugherty Mangrum born in Williamson County, Tennessee.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Sue Mangrum; son, Tony (Lesia) Mangrum; daughter, Gwen (Bill) Mangrum-Youngblood; four grandchildren, Bobby Mangrum, Kimberly Vining, Meghan Dunn, and Payton Collins; sister, Evelyn Jones; brother, Wallace Mangrum and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William Carlton Mangrum, and son, Craig Thomas Mangrum.

He was a member of the Northside Church of Christ and enjoyed traveling with his wife and family. He was the former mayor of Valley Springs, Arkansas for twelve years and a former board member of North Arkansas Regional Medical Center. He retired after 47 years from RockTenn/Westrock as plant manager. In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf and mowing his grass.


Visitation was Thursday at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home in Harrison, Arkansas.

A second visitation and funeral service was at Fairview Church of Christ in Fairview, Tennessee, on Saturday, June 25, 2022.

Interment was in Lampley Cemetery.

He was a gentle soul and I learned so much about "long suffering" from his journey

Gwen and Tony I’m so sorry on your dad’s passing. He was a very kind and gentle soul man, and he will be missed.
