Matthew Stracener, 49, of Dyersburg, TN passed away June 17, 2022. He was born December 27, 1972 to William "Mac" and Earnestine Stracener. Matt was an employee at Tenaris-Hickman for over 20 years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle for charity, attending Rivercrest Colts games, supporting San Francisco 49ers football and Golden State Warriors basketball. One of his favorite things to do was spending quality time with his family. He was a talented musician, wood-worker and Star Wars enthusiast. Matthew loved serving the Lord and evangelizing to those he met. He is survived by his wife, CynDee Stracener; sons, Levi Wesley Stracener and Sebastian Stracener; daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Stracener-Matthews; bonus children, Hunner Dalton Lowry, Noah Ty Lowry, Grant Theodore Lassley and Taylor Alexis Riddell; grandchildren, Garrison Lyric Matthews, Cyrus Wesley Stracener, Lane William Stracener, Daniel Keith Matthews, Audree Kathrynn Riddell, Noah Wayne Riddell, Thea Alexis Riddell, Ridge Taylor McDaniel and Raelynne Maureen Lowry; brother, Dan Stracener; sisters, Cindy (Terry) Gray and Beth McMurtry; sisters-in-law, Marsha Stracener and Sherrine Stracener. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Tim Stracener.

I have taken a long time to process Matthew passing but still can’t believe that he passed (the same year as my dad). He was such a good friend to me and his scripture texts and prayers are the exact reason I came back to Jesus. 🙌🏻 He is my brother in my heart always. When he sang my song at church, I felt so blessed.
I was a booger bear to Beth one day and I will always regret losing her friendship just like I wish I had stayed in contact with Matthew. 😭❤️🩹
CynDee, I prayed with Matthew for him to find you and I’m so glad he did!! He prayed with me to find my husband Jeremiah too. God was so good to me to give me Matthew for a brother. He sure loved every one of his many kids and had me praying for them by name all the time so that I started to love them even if I never met them. Such a sweet guy! He loved his mama and told me all about her.
I really miss Matthew and Beth. May God continue to comfort y’all. I’m so glad we will see him in Heaven singing and playing his drums. 🙌🏻

Matt was a true light in this world! One of the first friends I met when we moved to Luxora from Chicago in th 1st grade. He always tried to have a tough exterior but was a bit of a softy.
