I just heard about John's passing. He was a roommate of mine at Ole Miss and a dear friend for 50 years. The stories I could tell, but won't. I'm happy to see he has such a loving family. I know you miss him very much.

I love me some John Avaltroni. We worked together for many years at Entergy. He was one smart fellow. We kept in touch post-retirement over happy hour beers with fellow retirees at places like Buffalo Grill. Our only real disputes came when we found we were on opposite sides of the political spectrum - TJA and I had some robust discussions!! But we kept it civil. Condolences to Gale and the kids and grandkids and great-grandkids (all of whom he loved so, so much - the best way to change a topic with John was to bring up one of them, and off he’d go.). I will miss his friendship.

Alex, Megan and Kelly
We wanted you to know how very sorry we are for your loss. Even tho you knew it was coming your never ready. After just loosing my Mom the end of Feb. 2022 I know the hurt you feel. Your Dad was truly blessed with two children that loved him with all your heart. You always made time to come home as often as possible even when Kelly was in NY City. And shared your time fairly. You both are amazing and have made your Dad proud especially in these last few weeks. Thoughts and Prayers In the days to come.

“Uncle” Johnny will definitely be missed by a lot of people, but especially missed by me. I never really called him Uncle because he was only 9 months older than I am. When my birthday came along in January, I’d tease him that we were the same age, and then in April, I’d tease him about being older. We had some good, good times growing up. Those were definitely the “good ole days!” Sure going to miss him and his sweet texts, but knowing that he can breathe easily now, and doesn’t have to grasp for breaths makes it easier for me during this difficult time. Miss and love you sweet “Uncle” Johnny! Say hello to my mama, daddy, sister, brother, and brother-in-law for me.

John was such a nice guy to work with. We knew each other for years at Entergy in Little Rock. I remember how excited he was to build the new house just a few miles west of our place in Cabot. We lost touch after retirement, but I will never forget the kind person he was. I look forward to seeing him
again.

John has been a friend for 50 years. Due to job relocations we lost contact for quite a while. Then, due to our mutual best friend, Al Tarsi, we reconnected about 10 years ago. The three of us traveled a lot to several states enjoying baseball games and once even a rodeo. He will be missed tremendously by Al and me. But never forgotten!
