I just heard about John's passing. He was a roommate of mine at Ole Miss and a dear friend for 50 years. The stories I could tell, but won't. I'm happy to see he has such a loving family. I know you miss him very much.
Rest In Peace!!!
Alex&kelli, we are so sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. Glad he is at home with our Lord and no more sickness. We have many great memories of your family at church and going out for lunch afterwards. Watching you both grow up in the neighborhood. I know he was so proud of you both. Many prayers and much Love to you all. Steve, Sandra, Sara, Michael & Jessica.
John was one steady, true and smart man. When he talked, people listened, because he was right. A great colleague and gone too soon. Sincerest condolences to his family.
My sincere sympathy to his family.
I love me some John Avaltroni. We worked together for many years at Entergy. He was one smart fellow. We kept in touch post-retirement over happy hour beers with fellow retirees at places like Buffalo Grill. Our only real disputes came when we found we were on opposite sides of the political spectrum - TJA and I had some robust discussions!! But we kept it civil. Condolences to Gale and the kids and grandkids and great-grandkids (all of whom he loved so, so much - the best way to change a topic with John was to bring up one of them, and off he’d go.). I will miss his friendship.
What a great guy. John hired me for my first job at Entergy in the Economic Development Department in Jackson in 1986. I'll sure miss him. Praying for all the family.
Sorry to hear about John’s passing. My prayers are for his family
Alex, Megan and Kelly
We wanted you to know how very sorry we are for your loss. Even tho you knew it was coming your never ready. After just loosing my Mom the end of Feb. 2022 I know the hurt you feel. Your Dad was truly blessed with two children that loved him with all your heart. You always made time to come home as often as possible even when Kelly was in NY City. And shared your time fairly. You both are amazing and have made your Dad proud especially in these last few weeks. Thoughts and Prayers In the days to come.
Such an amazing man. I worked alongside of Johnny and always enjoyed his wisdom and genuineness. May Johnny Rest In Peace.
May God bless John and welcome him into Heaven. He was a great man. A great friend. We enjoyed being with him and Gale to not only have entertaining discussions, but to learn from his keen wit and intelligence. We shall miss him dearly.
Alex,
Very sorry to hear of your father's passing. Praying for you and your family in this time of grief.
Johnny was always the best. Back in the day we’d stay at his family home in Shelby. He would always have patience for his goofy girl cousin. Such a good soul.
Til we meet again â¤ï¸
Our thoughts and prayers are with Kelly and her entire family during this difficult time. I work with Kelly and we are all just heartbroken for her. Thinking of you.
Prayers for you and the family Alex. I’m sorry to hear that your father has passed. May God place his hands upon us during these difficult times.
I'll always remember looking up to uncle Johnny when I was little he seem to be a giant. Even when I got older and taller I still looked up to him. Going to him him dearly. Love and peace to the family.
May he Rest In Peace.
Alex - We will keep you in our prayers. So sorry, I know this hurts.

“Uncle†Johnny will definitely be missed by a lot of people, but especially missed by me. I never really called him Uncle because he was only 9 months older than I am. When my birthday came along in January, I’d tease him that we were the same age, and then in April, I’d tease him about being older. We had some good, good times growing up. Those were definitely the “good ole days!†Sure going to miss him and his sweet texts, but knowing that he can breathe easily now, and doesn’t have to grasp for breaths makes it easier for me during this difficult time. Miss and love you sweet “Uncle†Johnny! Say hello to my mama, daddy, sister, brother, and brother-in-law for me.
So sorry for your loss. We were high school and college buddies. Johnny was very intelligent and a good person/friend. He will be missed.
I'm so sorry for your loss. John was such a nice man and I always felt welcome around the family. My heart goes out to all of you.
John was such a nice guy to work with. We knew each other for years at Entergy in Little Rock. I remember how excited he was to build the new house just a few miles west of our place in Cabot. We lost touch after retirement, but I will never forget the kind person he was. I look forward to seeing him
again.
Johnny I miss you and as the youngest you were also closer to my age and I got to know you better than the rest of your brothers and sisters. You were so smart and funny and I admired your drive and dedication and wanted to be like you. I love you. I am a better man because of your love and influence. God Bless.
With deepest sympathy to Alex and Kelly.
Kelly & Alex,

I will miss my walking buddy and all of our talks that we had. Until we meet again, I love you buddy
I’m so very blessed to call John my uncle. He was such a kind, and gentle soul. His smile was extremely contagious. We will miss you Uncle John until we meet again….. â¤ï¸â¤ï¸
John,
What an amazing person and what a remarkable life. Celebrating the life of a wonderful man and mourning his passing with you.
Rest In Peace, Johnny. You have been a part of our lives for so long. We will miss you.

John has been a friend for 50 years. Due to job relocations we lost contact for quite a while. Then, due to our mutual best friend, Al Tarsi, we reconnected about 10 years ago. The three of us traveled a lot to several states enjoying baseball games and once even a rodeo. He will be missed tremendously by Al and me. But never forgotten!
My best friend for 70+ years. I wasn’t ready for you to go, but I know you’re no longer hurting and right with the One you worked so hard to see. My condolences to Gale, Alex, Kelly, and the rest of his loving family.
I miss you Uncle, I miss your love, and sense of humor, your courage to face challenges and your counsel when life was overwhelming. “Really Johnny “really! “ You will always be my Uncle Johnny â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸
John was the quintessential colleague. Trusted, wise, witty and humble, John always chose the best path forward. He will be missed.
So glad John made it all the way Home! He suffered enough! I'm sure he and Joe are talking about their grandkids right about now. The rest of the family will join them in due time. Rest in peace, my brother. âœï¸
