With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Vera Lou Rogers, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend to all whose lives she touched, on June 1, 2022. She left us while sleeping peacefully at the home she shared with her granddaughter and family, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was in her 79th year.
Vera was born to Mitchell Marvin Rogers and Katie Sue Sanders on September 3, 1942 in Joiner, Arkansas and was the youngest of four children. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. Vera was the beloved mother of Lou Ann Warhurst, Lisa Lynn Greenwood, Lori Kathleen Hensley, Kelly Lynn Brock, Kenneth Jay Brock Jr, Martha Jean Brock and Jerrie Marie Brock-Belcher. She lived a full life as a wonderful partner, mother, mentor, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to garden, dance and spoil her family with everything she had.
Vera Lou Rogers joins her devoted partner in life, James, better known as "Honey"; her parents, Mitchell and Katie; siblings, Wayne and Vivian, as well as her granddaughter, Amber and great-grandson, Malaki, in heaven. She is survived by many loving family members including her sister, Carol Sue Freels; brother-in-law, Lamar Curtis "L.C." Freels; her children, Lou Ann, Lisa Lynn, Lori, Kelly Lynn, Kenneth, Martha and Jerrie and her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of Vera's life will be held at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, 201 N. Pine St., West Memphis, AR 72303. The viewing is at 10:00a.m and the service will follow afterwards.
