James ''Jim'' Dilling, 76, of Marion passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022, at his home. Jim was born on November 24, 1945, in St. Louis, MO to Glen and Maryan Dilling.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Glenda Bentz and nephew, Jim Bentz.
Jim is survived by his true love Stella, whom he married on September 27, 1997. They shared a life full of happy memories. They enjoyed traveling, car museums, flea markets, estate sales and movie nights together. They also enjoyed spoiling their grandchildren; Bradley, Emily, Megan, Abigail; and recently welcomed Natalie to the family.
He is also survived by Michael and Kelly Houston; nephew, Bob and his wife, Diane Bentz; niece, Betsy and Kevin Cummings; brother-in-law, Jerry Bentz.
Jim graduated from Bethel University. He had a long passion for helping troubled youth. The later part of his professional career, Jim was a social worker in the Shelby County Correctional Facility, where he worked to help rehabilitate incarcerated persons.
Throughout his life, Jim had many dogs, including his favorite childhood dog, Tippy. He and Stella fostered many homeless pets. There was never a dog that he didn't try to befriend and he would always stop to pet them.
Graveside services for Jim will be 1:00 PM, Friday, June 3, 2022, at Harris Chapel Cemetery in Wynne with David Moose officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 11:00 AM at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, 201 N. Pine Street, West Memphis, AR.
Those chosen to honor Jim as pallbearers are; Michael Houston, Bradley Houston, Michael Utley, Rickey Utley, Leslie Utley, James Houston and Jonathan Clayton.

Stella, Gene & I are so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. He was a good man, & friend of ours from Rosewood Methodist Church, & Marion/ West Memphis Lion's Club. May he rest in peace.
