So sorry about Hazel. I really loved her. I treasure our phone conversations we had. She really was the one who kept me close to my family in my heart. All I can say is I loved her very much. The world lost a light when she went to be with Eugene and Jimmy. God bless .

What a wonderful life! So many of us had Mrs. Burnett for our 3rd grade teacher. She was always caring and a very good teacher. Mr. Gene was so nice when we visited the 'dime store' as children and took the time to speak to each of us about our day. We loved this family. Our prayers and condolences go to Jo Beth and all the family.

We are so sorry for the loss of your mother. She was a highly respected teacher and member of the community. She and Eugene were so supportive of kids in Clinton when I was growing up and encouraging to all. I remember thinking you all had such a happy family! Hang on to those memories.

I am so sorry to hear that Mrs. Burnett has passed away. I met her many decades ago as a youngster when my late parents, Clifton & Mavis Chapman, used to take me with them to Clinton and to stop by the variety store and visit with her. She was always so cheerful, well informed, and eternally optimistic. Hers was a life well lived. It was a privilege to have known her.

Jo Beth,
We are so sorry to read about your mother passing. God blessed her with a very long and profitable life. No matter what age she is when she leaves this world, a Mother’s sweet love is hard to relinquish, but God has blessed us with the capacity to always remember the beautiful years that we have shared with our loved ones. May God place His arms around you and hold as close as she once did. Our prayer is that God’s never ending comfort be yours during this time and the days to come.

Mrs. Burnett was my first teacher at Clinton Elementary when we moved here from Arizona when I was in the 3rd grade. I’ll always remember her sweet and caring demeanor. She always greeted us by name when we visited their shop. Heaven has surely gained an angel! Godspeed beautiful lady 🙏🏽💞🙏🏽

Ms Hazel was a wonderful woman. Her and her husband Eugene are described in the Bible, " the salt of the earth." They were caring, friendly and busy people. Always busy working to make things better for their community and the people in it. These two people have a special place in my heart and now a special place in Heaven. Together Again
