of Bono, AR
February 10, 1933 - May 4, 2022
Charles Wesley McBroome, 89, of Bono, Arkansas gained his reward surrounded by his family on May 4, 2022. Wes was a member of the Bono Church of Christ. Those who knew Pop, knew he always had bubble gum for the kids. Pop was a farmer most of his life. One of the family's favorite memories was Pop's Pumpkin Patch where they spent many hours planting and picking pumpkins. Pop loved taking his grandkids on a ride in the yellow jeep and teasing them with his missing finger. Many hours were spent riding the mule and planting the garden with his nephew (Billy Marshall), as well as countless trips to Ron's Catfish, and spending time at deer camp with his brothers and grandsons. You could often find Gram and Pop sitting on the deck viewing God's country. Pop loved his family and loved the times when everyone was together.
Wes was preceded by his parents, Stanley and Ethel McBroome, and his siblings, Vernon McBroome, Stanley McBroome, Murlene (Sis) McBroome, Eaulia McBroome, Harold McBroome, Alphas McBroome, Billy Ray McBroome, Norman McBroome; and his grandson Christopher Wayne McBroome.
Wes is survived by his wife of 71 years, Deborah McBroome and their 5 children, Butch McBroome of Little Rock, Arkansas, Rick McBroome (Sheri) of Cocoa, Florida, Teri Williams (Randy) of Egypt, Arkansas, Lisa McBroome of Bono, Arkansas, and Patti Parton (Clint) of Bono, Arkansas. Pop had 16 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; a sister, Norma Faye Dunn of Heber Springs, Arkansas; and a special nephew, Billy Marshall Shadwick.
Graveside services will be 11 am Saturday at Unity Cemetery with Richard Akins officiating. No visitation is scheduled. Wes's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Roger and Spanky Wright will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, please consider the Bono Church of Christ or the Crowley's Ridge Academy.
Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home of Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements.
