Junior Ray Sutterfield

of Morning Star, AR

November 10, 1956 - April 17, 2022

Junior Ray Sutterfield, age 65 of Morning Star, Arkansas passed from this life into his eternal home on Easter Sunday, April 17th, 2022 at his home surrounded by the people he loved the most. He was born in Batesville, Arkansas on November 10th, 1956 to Coy Edward "Jinx" Sutterfield and Oleta Elma Zinn Sutterfield.

Junior Ray worked for a number of years at the County Road Department and met many dear friends during that time. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing the guitar, music, traveling with his wife, and spending time with his daughter, son-in-law and two granddaughters. Above all though, he loved leading people to Christ. In his earlier years, Junior traveled all over the southern portions of the country evangelizing. Junior, along with his wife, saw vast numbers of people saved, healed and delivered. Junior later became the Pastor of Loafer's Glory Community Church in Morning Star, Arkansas. He pastored LGCC for 22 years. He devoted his entire heart, soul, and life to the church....and the people in it became his family. He was one of the few "hell fire and brimstone" preachers left. Junior Ray wasn't afraid to step on your toes if he thought it would get you into heaven. He didn't just preach the gospel, he lived it out....up until his very last breath. If Junior could leave one last message with his family and flock, it would simply be "You don't want to miss this. It's everything I told you it would be. This isn't goodbye, this is just I'll be seeing you soon."

Junior is preceded in death by his parents, Jinx and Oleta Sutterfield. Survivors include his loving wife, Carla Treat Sutterfield of the home; one daughter, Beth Harris and husband, Chris of Greenbrier; two granddaughters, Cami and Abby Harris; and a congregation and whole host of other family and friends that will mourn his passing and miss his presence until we are all reunited again.

Funeral service for Junior Ray will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 20th, 2022 at Loafer's Glory Community Church in Morning Star, Arkansas with Bro. Darin Holliman officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM preceding the service. Burial will follow at Spoonflat Cemetery in the Fifty Six Community of Stone County, Arkansas. Bearers will be Chris Harris, Junior Cole, Drew Horton, Kenny Phillips, Tracy Carraway, Mike Crow and Phil Pulis. Honorary bearers will be LJ Treat, Chris Norwood, Clinton Cole, Randy Crumley, Taylor Phillips, Logan Carraway, Tyler Horton, Brad Smith, Blake Phillips, River Baysinger, Andrew Phillips, Matthew Cole, Darin Holliman, Skope Ney, Charles Harness, Jason Bradford, the Stone County Road crew, and all the rest of his family, friends and church.

My heart is heavey hearing the news of this great man's passing.
I grieve for his family's loss and that loss to all who knew him and loved him.
I rejoice in the fact that he is in the arms of Chirst .
I have no doubt that he heard these words from his Maker..."Well done. my good and fainthful servant."
He will be missed and there is a space in our hearts that can not be filled.

The first time Jr ever helped me was letting his church help me get my apartment. The second time he helped me was moving my stuff to my apartment. Then I got the privilege to attend his church and get to know him and his family and church family. He is the best pastor I ever met. I am saddened to learn of his passing. And send prayers to his family Ms. Carla and Ms. Beth and Ms. Abby and Cami and the entire Loafers Glory Church family. I will always remember the kind words he spoke and the fun times we had in church. Love you Jr Ray. You will be missed. Ericka💐
