Linda G Bowie

of Greenbrier, AR

June 7, 1947 - April 3, 2022

Linda G. Bowie, 74, of Greenbrier, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2022. Linda was born on Honey Hill in Searcy, Arkansas, June 7, 1947, to Dewey Alexander Moncrief and Mammie Brock Moncrief.

She is preceded in death by her parents, as well as husband, David Terri Bowie of whom she was married to for 55 years. She is preceded in death by her grandson, "BJ" and brother, Lebert Moncrief, as well as sisters, Della Markham, Margaret Kincannon, Pauline Lawrence, and six-day old baby sister, Charlene Moncrief.

Linda was a self-employed seamstress and re-furbisher. She is remembered by her family as being loud, boisterous, and opinionated, but would be the first to give you the shirt off her back. She never knew or met a stranger. She loved to work in her garden and was the first to say that she was a firm believer in child labor when it came to putting the kids to work in the garden with her. Linda was a once-a-year partier and lived life to its fullest. She will be forever loved and missed by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Gordon Bowie and David Bowie, Jr., as well as her brother, Billy Jerrell Moncrief. Also left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Bridgette Craft, Terry Bowie, and 9 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 3:00pm, Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier, Arkansas.

I had the privilege of meeting this lady once when I took her son, Gordon out to visit with her a few months back. What turned from an hour's to a few hours visit will be with me forever. She was so fun to visit with that I felt like we were family cuz she made me feel very welcomed. We laugh and talk for a while and I think I could have stayed longer had time permitted.
I'm so sorry to Gordon and his family for their loss. May you all be blessed with peace and comfort that only the Lord can provide you with...RIP Ms. Linda.
