Joanne H Barham

of Conway, AR

December 7, 1932 - March 26, 2022

Joanne Holland Barham age 89 of Conway, Arkansas went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 26, 2022. She happily reunites with her late husband Robert O. Bob Barham, after being apart from each other almost 43 years. She also joins many loved ones who preceded her.

Joanne was born on December 7, 1932 in Quitman, Arkansas to the late Arthur Jennings Holland and Muriel Tarver Holland.

Joanne grew up in Conway and was well-known while working in the banking industry for almost 43 years, retiring in 1994. She began her banking career in 1951 with First State Bank & Trust Company in Conway. For many years, she was the beautiful and bright smiling face at one of the teller windows who came to know her customers regularly and treated many of them like family. She built long-lasting friendships and they loved her, and she loved them.

Joanne was a 1950 graduate of Conway High School. Throughout the years after graduation, she was active in helping to plan high school reunions. She was also on the committee for The Antique Wampus Cat with one of her favorite classmates and good friend Jim Stone. She loved the Wampus Cats and the Razorbacks.

On May 2, 1954, Joanne married the love of her life, Robert O. Bob Barham of Conway. Bob had recently been honorably discharged from the United States Air Force. If you knew Joanne, you knew how much in love she was with ''her Bob''. They enjoyed each other for 26 years of marriage until Bob's sudden death in 1980 at age 53. After several years, Joanne would eventually marry George Ray Evatt of Conway. George was a wonderful husband to Joanne, and a great stepfather and grandpa to the Barham family. Joanne and George loved each other and shared many special times together going to Branson, MO and attending family reunions in Mt. View, AR and Hot Springs, AR until his passing in March 2015.

Joanne was a faithful member of Robinson & Center Church of Christ in Conway. She loved the Lord, and she loved her church family. This was most evident by the way she lived her life. She had a ''servants' heart'', always serving others before she considered herself. She was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. But to our family, Joanne was known as ''Zsa Zsa'', a name her grandson Brandon gave her when he was little, as he tried to say grandma, it came out as ''Zsa Zsa''. She loved that name and proudly owned it. We will forever be thankful for her life, the love she shared in so many ways, and the times we were blessed to be able to spend with her. We will miss our Zsa Zsa.

Joanne is preceded in death by her parents Arthur J. Holland and Muriel Tarver Holland, her husband Robert O. Bob Barham, her husband George Ray Evatt, and one brother, Harold A. Holland of Napa, CA.

She is survived by her son, Bob Barham (Lee) of Conway; her daughter, Nancy Barham (Jack) of Corpus Christi, TX; Grandchildren, Brandon Robert Barham (fiancé McKenna Root) of Greenwood, AR; Mallory Katherine Barham (Matthew Bailey) of Conway; Great grandson, Braxton Robert Barham of Greenwood, AR; Step-sons, Kenny Evatt of Conway; Johnny Evatt (Tasha) of Shawnee, KS; Stepdaughter, DeeAnn Evatt Sneed (Sam) of Conway; Step-grandchildren, Addison Robin (Andrew) of Magnolia, TX; Madeline Moore of Corsicana TX; Brad Hartwick (Kelly) of Conway; Brian Hartwick (Heather) of Jacksonville, FL; Jared Evatt (Amanda) of Shawnee, KS; and Kailee Evatt (fiancé Logan Schmidt) of Clearwater, FL; and a host of nieces and nephews that she dearly loved.

Visitation will be on Friday April 1, 2022 from 6-8 PM at Roller McNutt Funeral Home of Conway. Funeral service will be On Saturday April 2, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the Robinson and Center Street Church of Christ in Conway. Mr. Steve Norris will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Conway.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Barham, Matthew Bailey, Andrew Robin, Adam Fitzhugh, Kenny Evatt, and Rickey Gulley.

Honorary pallbearers are: Jim Stone, Norman Crass, Louis Stell, Kevin Holland, Lee Holland, and John Braden.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Church of Christ, Robinson & Center Streets, 1505 Robinson Avenue-Conway, AR 72034; The Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 201 Markham Center Dr, Little Rock, AR 72205, or National Parkinson Foundation, Inc., 200 SE 1st Street-Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131

My dearest and beautiful mom:

I could write for weeks trying to explain how much you meant to me all of my life. You were not just my mother, but a friend to me when I needed someone to talk to. You listened and gave me advice, whether I agreed with it or not, and I appreciated it every time. You and dad raised me and Nancy in a Christian home and laid the foundation for us on Biblical principles. You taught us how to love and treat people with respect. You let us make our own decisions and learn from our mistakes, but also instilled in us to do what is right in the eyes of God. All of those things and more I will forever be grateful for. I will miss you more than you could ever imagine. The phone calls, visits, your humor that made us all laugh by the way you reacted to things. You were the glue that held us all together mom. I’m thankful that we all got to share with you how much we love you and how much you meant to all of us. You got to see your great grandson Braxton one last time. Your grandchildren spent time with you one last time. You knew you were loved by us all before you took your last breath. And I asked God Friday night to take you peacefully and without pain. He answered my prayer. You are now with Jesus. You are with dad again after almost 42 years of being apart. You are with Papa George again. You are with other family and friends that you’ve missed and loved so dearly. You have a new body now that is healed. What more can we ask for? You told me many times “son, I don’t know what I would have done without you”. Now I don’t know what I’ll do without you. All I can do is treasure your memory and be thankful for the times we had with you. Because you would want us to go on and “live” and enjoy life. Until we meet again mom (Zsa Zsa). Rest easy. I will always love you.

Bo
