Donald Fay Rackley, Sr., 82, a resident of Ashdown, formerly of Paris, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at his home.
He was born October 24, 1939, in Paris to the late JD Coy and Golda Marie McCurry Rackley. Donald spent his working years first as an automotive mechanic then most recently with Walmart Stores in both Texarkana and Ashdown. He attended the Richmond United Methodist Church near Ashdown.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his first wife, Allie Jean Lyons Rackley; a son, John Paul Rackley; a brother, Earl Dee Rackley; and two sisters, Lucille McCubbin McGrath and Sherry Marie Barbee.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie Higginbotham Rackley of Ashdown; three sons, Donald Fay Rackley, Jr., and wife, Debra of London, Branden Lynn Rackley and wife, Daphne of Ashdown and Marvin Wayne Rackley of Ashdown; a granddaughter, Kasey Rackley Dvorak and great-granddaughter, Tashlyn Dvorak both of Russellville; numerous stepchildren and their families; and a brother, Marvin Lee Rackley and wife, Ruth of Charleston.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 28, 2022, at Roller Funeral Home in Paris. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Paul Buchanan officiating. Burial will follow in Wares Chapel Cemetery near Scranton under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
Pallbearers will be Branden Rackley, Marvin Rackley, Bobby Barbee, Kenneth McCubbin, Milton Higginbotham and David Morris.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Barbee, Russell Brown, Max Robinson and Bob Morris.
