Mildred McCutchan

of Harrison, AR

April 6, 1934 - February 26, 2022

Mildred (Crawford) McCutchan, age 87 of Harrison, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born April 6, 1934, in Webbers Falls, Oklahoma to Ralph and Bertha Burt Crawford.
She married Hallie McCutchan on December 25, 1953, in Coolidge, Arizona, and together they moved to Harrison in 1962.
Along with her parents and husband, Mildred was preceded in death by her brother Alford Crawford, sisters Betty Bossing, Viola Beaty, Martha Ivey; and brothers-in-law, Marcus McCutchan, and Kermit McCutchan.
Mildred was a woman known by many for her strength, determination, and confidence. Regardless of what she was participating in, she always wanted things to be done in a fair way.
She enjoyed working in her flower beds, gardening, and bird watching. Her greatest pride and joy is her grandson, Tyler. She would always make it a point to attend whatever sporting event he was involved in, wearing the name ''Mim'' proudly.
She was an avid bowler for numerous years and was part of the Arkansas State 600 club, the Monday morning Coffee Breakers League, Wednesday evening bowling league; and was even able to attend nationals.
She was a current member of the Boone County Cattlemen's Association and attended many Arkansas State conventions with her husband Hallie. She was also a current board member of the Boone County Cattlemen's Scholarship Foundation, which gives scholarships to high school seniors majoring in beef agriculture. Mildred was a past president of the Boone County Cattlewomen's Group. She was given the Cattlewomen's Educator Award in 1998 for her service in promoting beef and participated in ''Ag in the Classroom'' at the local area schools and did beef promotions at the grocery stores; she along with her husband Hallie were named Boone County Farm Family of the year in 1975; and she was later named Boone County Senior Farmer of the Year in 2018 from Farm Bureau which she was still a current member.
Mildred was given the Distinguished Republican Pioneer Award in 2017 from the Boone County Republican Committee for her and husband Hallie's many years of continued work within the Boone County Republican Party; she worked the election polls in her district each year and thought it very important for every person to make their vote count.
Mildred is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carman and Louie Williams; her grandson and his girlfriend, Tyler Williams and Carley Matlock; sisters Joyce Burt, Velma Browning, brother Ralph Crawford Jr., her sister-in-law, Aleene McCutchan; and a host of other family and many dear friends.

Carman & Family,

My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. Your Mom & Dad were a part of the “Old Gang” with my parents. Your Mother was my Mom’s maid of honor.I remember traveling to your parents farm with my Mom & Dad around 1994. She was a very special lady. Beautiful inside and out! She will be missed. 🙏🏻💜

Carmen, Louie and Tyler,
The farm will not be the same without seeing the old farm truck coming up the road with a lady with a big wave and smile! A very sweet and strong willed woman that I will always admire. The stories of when her and your dad moved here were something movies are made of. Also, the admiration Steve has for Mildred and her trusting him with the daily cattle operations. You and your family are in our prayers and thoughts.

I will miss you terribly. She was my second mom. She was always there for me. We always had fun being together and had a lot of laughs. She was always loving and would always listen and help figure out what she could to help. She loved her family and friends and held them close. She specially loved being with Tyler her grandson. I witnessed that personally. I loved her so much.

Mildred was a truly awesome lady. I loved her and Hallie. Especially when I tried to do my own plumbing. (With a hammer.) I just can’t find the words, but the world will be a different place without her in it. Carmen we have all been so close for so long. Our prayers and love surround you during this difficult time. You have been so blessed to have both of them. If you need any of us, we are here for you. We love you.

Carmen my heart breaks for you and the family. Mildred was one of a kind, someone that was soft spoken, smiled with her heart and loved all. She took me under her loving wings when I met her and never left me.
I’ll never be able to bake strawberry/lemonade cookies again without thinking of her and how much she loved them.
May God give you peace and comfort
