Marvin DeWayne Carlton, known as "Red" or "Corky" by most, age 82, of Bellefonte, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022, in Harrison. He was born February 17, 1939, in Elmwood, Arkansas, the son of Dale and Oleta (Taylor) Carlton. Along with his parents, DeWayne was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Dorthy Jo (DePriest) Carlton; his sister, Sheila (Carlton) Young; and his brothers-in-law, Eddie DePriest, D. K. Powell, and Charles Fowler.
DeWayne is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Karla Carlton, of Bellefonte; his granddaughter, Breshia Royce and husband Matthew; great-grandchildren, Riddley and Maddox; his granddaughter, Kayla Jones and husband Jace; great-grandson, Kam; his grandson, Michael "Bubba" Carlton; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and John Yount and Shannon and Don Walker; his brother-in-law, Tony Young; his sisters-in-law, Betty Powell, and L. Elaine Fowler; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
DeWayne was once the proud owner of the downtown Phillips 66 Station. He retired from the Arkansas State Highway Department in 2001. He was an avid carpenter and spent the majority of his retirement mowing lawns for his lawn mowing business, which is what he enjoyed doing most. He never met a stranger. He loved and enjoyed his family and friends. DeWayne will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
Visitation is 9:00 to 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
The funeral service is 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with Bro. Dennis Selvidge officiating.
Interment is in Elmwood Cemetery.
DeWayne's nephews and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers are James Farrell, Eric Simmons, and the Coffee Shop Gang.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital, 1 Children's Way, Little Rock, AR 72202.
We had the honor of calling Corky a friend for over 50+ years. Since he and Hoot worked together at Bill Johnson’s 66 Station. He was one of the best. Sympathy to each of you, may God grant you peace and comfort during this time.

Corky was a DEAR friend that spend time with us at the Truck Stop every day. He always kept us up to date on his "scratch" ticket successes. He will be missed by all who knew him. Prayers for the family.....
Cousin Garry mentioned the Ozark Drive in and you taking him to work. I remember me and Tim Crain trying to sneak in, the Ozark Drive in and you caught us every time. You gave me a choose, "pay or have Mom or Dad come pick us up." I always paid. I'm going to miss you Corky. Heaven is lucky to have you. Tell our family I said hi.
