Carolyn Ann Ingold

of Marianna, AR

March 21, 1952 - February 2, 2022

On March 21st, 1952, Carolyn Ann Short-Ingold was born to Edgar and Laura Short. Carolyn was the eighth born child in the Short family. She was raised in Marvell, Arkansas. During her teenage years, she met the love of her life, Dobby Ingold who she married in 1972. During Dobby's time overseas, she would write letters to him which she recalled often. Carolyn and Dobby were married thirty-two years. They had two children together and lived a wonderful life before she became a widow in 2004. Carolyn lived on to see the birth and help raise both her granddaughter and great-granddaughter. Carolyn dedicated her life to being a mother, wife, meme, and homemaker. She spent her time outside planting gardens, rose bushes, and reading her bible. She was a member of the Church of Christ and reflected her love for God in everything she did. In her later years, Carolyn spent her days as meme to her grandchild and great-grandchild. Together they played, sang, read books, colored, and even shared a secret language. Her love for her family was unfathomable. It will shine on for many generations to come. Carolyn lived a life of love, laughter, and hope. Even though her passing was unexpected, we rejoice in knowing that she is walking with her Savior, husband, siblings, and parents. She loved so deeply and we will continue to see her beauty carry on through the spring flowers, sunsets, hummingbirds, and everything else that made her our meme and momma. Carolyn is survived by two daughters, Tina Ingold, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Amy Ingold, of Marianna, Arkansas, one granddaughter, Jena Yarbrough (Dillon), of Memphis, Tennessee, and one great-granddaughter, Ella Yarbrough, two brothers, Charles Short (Ruth), of Mississippi, and Bobby Short, of Dumas, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Laura Short, her husband, Dobby Ingold, five sisters, Jean Ramsey, Shirley Webb, Pat Henry, Janet Wilhite, and Mary Cooper, and two brothers, Dennis Short, and Billy Short. Service for Carolyn will be held Monday, February 7, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in Marianna, Arkansas. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 6, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. also at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Burial will follow services at Marianna Memorial Park in Marianna. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. After reading her obituary I see she and I had a lot in common. Mainly hummingbirds. When I feed my hummers I will think of Ms.Carolyn. I know she will be missed.

It’s hard to imagine her gone. She’s always been a phone call away. She forever put up with my quirky sense of humor. Lol. Prayers for the girls. Not only did they loose their mother , they lost their friend. I love you all. And Aunt Carolyn tell my mom I love her. ❤️
