Kevin M. Steele

of Maumelle, AR

February 5, 1957 - January 26, 2022

Kevin M. Steele, 64, of Maumelle passed away on January 26, 2022. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cindy, their daughter Traci, and son Ryan (Yaritza), his three brothers Rick, Darrin (Maggie), Todd (Christy), and his sister Brenda. He leaves behind a host of other family and friends who adored him and will miss him beyond words.

Kevin was born February 5, 1957, in Payson, Utah to Monte and Kathleen. He spent his youth playing sports, but baseball was his passion, and where he really shined. He played all through being a star at Kearns High School, where he met the love of his life, Cindy.

Kevin went on to work at the Union Pacific Railroad, just like his grandfather, where he made lifelong friends, and in 1986 moved to Arkansas, and was bestowed the name that he would be known by for the rest of his life, Bubba.

Bubba was a fan of most sports. He loved to fish and got to participate in several tournaments over the years. He loved to golf, which he taught to his children, and watch it as well. But watching college sports was one of his favorites. He loved to watch Utah Utes football and was an avid supporter of the Arkansas Razorbacks. He could not wait for each season of each sport to begin, but it was college baseball he loved most. Spring ball all the way to conference tournaments, counted down the days until the College World Series, and even dreamed of going to Omaha to hopefully watch the Diamond Hogs win it all one year.

Aside from sports, the only thing he loved more was cooking. He loved to cook for friends and family for all occasions, holidays, birthdays, gamedays, you name it. For all those who knew him could attest to his cooking skills, as well as his love or all things spicy, and that no pepper was hot enough, and no meal could be too spicy.

Bubba also loved his puzzles, of all kinds. Every morning Sudoku, Jumbles, Crypto quotes, and the daily crossword, and every Sunday, he was the only one who could successfully start such a difficult crossword to even make it solvable. But Jigsaw puzzles he loved the most, and nothing less than 1000 pieces would do.

This man had a great sense of humor, and an even bigger heart. He will be missed in every moment going forward but will always be beside those whom he loved the most, so they will never feel alone.

Memorial Services will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 1:00 pm, at the Riverwood Memorial Gardens, 301 Carnahan Drive, Maumelle. Casual dress is encouraged.

I partnered with Kevin on two occasions each for several months. In my thirty three years of working on the railroad, my opinion is Bubba was the best partner I ever teamed up with. It seems when there are large groups of people working together that there are always a few who everyone looked up to and Kevin was one at the top of the list at Jenks. I truly love Bubba........
