Ronald "Ron" Lynn MillerI am a Veteran.

of Little Rock, AR

June 7, 1948 - January 23, 2022

Ronald (Ron) Miller, surrounded by his wife Margie and longtime friends, Wayne and Jeanie Smith, went into the arms of Jesus, Sunday, January 23, 2022. He battled Parkinson's Disease for almost two decades and recently contracted Covid, which he was too frail to recover from. Ron was born June 7, 1948, in St Francis, Kansas, to Robert and Marjorie Miller. He was raised in Nebraska, and was the eldest of four siblings: Sherilynn (Bill) Reynolds, Joy (Daniel) Sodders, Lou Ann (Mark) Colborn, and Jon (Teresa) Miller.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Margie Miller, and his precious children: Timothy (Mary Susan) Miller, Rebecca (Jeff) Jenkins, and Jacquelynn (Josh) Coe. He was blessed with seven beloved grandchildren, two nephews, four nieces; and many great nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marjorie Miller; uncle, Glenn Walter; uncle, Burdette Miller; and his nephew, Ben Reynolds.

Ron served in the Navy on a nuclear submarine, the USS Daniel Boone, during the Vietnam era. He moved from South Carolina to Southern California and there he came into a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ in 1978. He grew greatly in his relationship with and knowledge of studying the Bible and sharing the good news of Jesus' love to everyone who would receive it. He married in 1980 and shortly afterward began his business, Miller Construction Enterprises, as a Building and Remodeling Contractor. He was a hard worker and made many beautiful things with his hands. He and his wife, Margie, were blessed with three wonderful God loving children and he loved them deeply!

In 1980 he attended his first FamilyLife Weekend to Remember(tm). He was hooked! FamilyLife's Weekend to Remember(tm) became his outreach ministry. After volunteering for years at the local conference he joined FamilyLife as missionary staff and relocated the family to Little Rock, Arkansas. He loved his work at FamilyLife! He delighted in working with staff and volunteers alike. He enjoyed in his many roles as a National Representative, Planner, Spanish Liaison, Manager, and National Prayer Director. He had a heart for training others in prayer and was privileged to coordinate prayer gatherings and personally pray for others. He also was instrumental in forming the Toastmaster Club at FamilyLife and delighted in all his involvement with the club. In 2007-2008 he served as the Division B Governor for District 43 Toastmasters International.

Comments from others about him were: "Always loved working with him - such a servant and wonderful at loving the volunteers, conferees, and fellow staff/speakers at the events." Ron handled his Parkinson's Disease with grace and resolute dependence on the Lord as he walked through many challenges. He faithfully demonstrated that his strength came from the Lord and he walked that out with grace, humility, and cooperation throughout all the care he received. He was blessed with family, friends, many nurses, and many aides, who came and assisted him as his disease progressed. He is now whole as he is rejoicing in the arms of his Savior.

Visitation will be at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, Thursday, February 10, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, February 11, 2022, at the Bible Church of Little Rock at 10:00 a.m. an internment at the Arkansas Veteran's Cemetery in North Little Rock at 12:00 p.m.

Because of his love for meeting the needs of others and spreading the gospel, Ron would have liked for donations to be made to "the Voice of the Martyrs". (https://www.persecution.com/donate/)

Dear Margie and family, our family's prayers are with you. Ron was a wonderful man and we're confident he will be sorely missed. But like my father who also passed away from Parkinson's and Jeannette who passed only 2 1/2 years ago, they are celebrating in heaven and it's us that's missing out. God bless you and your entire family... I know He is and He will. Wish I could have been there today. Ron was always a joyful, fun-spirited guy that I thoroughly enjoyed being around. May the Lord bless you and keep you and make His face to shine upon you and give you peace. Coram Deo, Lee

I have known Ron and Margie for about 35 years when I started babysitting for their kids when they were babies. Ron loved God and his family with all his heart. He was so positive and welcoming. He will be missed.

Abby and I are so thankful we met Ron and Margie Miller. Ron was a great friend and brother over the last 40 years. His easy going midwestern way of connecting with everyone made our friendship deep and lasting. The way Ron and Margie navigated the deep waters of his illness these past twenty years has been deeply inspiring. They lived courageously the spiritual life they shared with others. Our thoughts and prayers will continue to reach out over the miles asking God to comfort and enfold Margie and the children. So much to reflect on. Lives well lived under such difficult circumstances. What Ron must be experiencing this very moment. I can only imagine.

I don’t remember a time when I was in Ron’s presence when he didn’t smile and bring a smile to others. I always left Ron’s presence encouraged.

I’m also grateful for the Toastmasters group he started.

My wife Kim and I were blessed to work with Ron as the City Ministry Directors for the St. Louis Weekend to Remember. During our years together he influenced my life for Christ in many ways as a husband, father and grandfather for which I am eternally grateful. In our visits to Little Rock Ron and Margie's marriage was a cherished and lasting witness for us in our relationship. He lived a life of service, humility and love for his Savior. I am grateful and blessed by God for having allowed us to be a part of Ron's legacy. "Well done good and faithful servant." With our deepest love and caring, Dave and Kim Brede

Ron was my first manager at FamilyLife. He was an encourager, trainer, and Godly example. He served with excellence and shepherded his staff well. He and Margie modeled true marital teamwork. I will miss his genuine care, his passion for prayer and his deep dedication to the Lord, Margie, and his children. Sad to see him go, but rejoicing that he is now pain free.

“Amidst my weeping, let sweeter memories resurface, buoyed by deeper joys no sorrow can suppress. Let us draw upon this day former delights, so that old happiness and heartbreak are laced and intertwined with new hope, and fellowship, and beauty. Lead us, O Lord, through this layered confusion of celebration and lament, of things present and things past. Let us make of this day a new thing, as we know that Ron has been, in joy, made forever complete. Comfort us in the meantime, O Lord, for the ache of these days is real.” -Every Moment Holy, vols 1 & 2.
We love you all and are praying alongside you.

We are paying for peace and comfort for your family. Ron’s absolutely love of his children shined through when he worked so hard to be able to walk Jacq down the aisle. It is one of my favorite memories of their wedding day. He was so brave and strong. Please accept our most sincere condolences.

We had the privilege of knowing Ron many years ago and we richly blessed. We thank God for allowing us to support his ministry for a period of time, but circumstances took us out of that role. He was an amazing servant of God and played a huge role in saving marriages. We send our heartfelt prayers to Margie and the family.

All these past years I have thought of Ron intermittently wondering about his life. I think the last time I saw him he went to California. We were very young. So sorry we missed out on each others life. My loss, because I would have liked to know him. Sorry he suffered, we know he is well now!
