Duncan, or ''LD'' as he was referred to by family and friends, was born in Kansas City, Missouri to Loren Donald Miller and Helen Wright Miller. After the early death of his mother, and his father's remarriage, he was fortunate to have Roberta Ruth Miller as a presence in his life.

Duncan was preceded in death by his parents, stepsister Marjorie Palmisano, his first wife of 35 years Jeanne Harrison Miller and his second wife, Dee Miller whom he shared the latter part of his life and lost too soon.

He leaves behind: a daughter, Karen J Rettig of Prairie Village, Kansas; a son, Michael H. Miller of Round Rock, Texas; three grandsons: Clint Rettig, Blaine Rettig, and Brett Rettig and two granddaughters: Catherine Miller and Jackie Miller; three great-grandsons: Hudson Rettig, Caleb Rettig and Hunter Rettig. As a result of his marriage to Dee Miller he was fortunate to become a stepfather to Melissa (Phillip) Rea, Cheryl Watkins and Kimberly (Jeff) Melton; grandchildren: Christopher Carter, Robin Watson, Nathan Carter, Ryan Watkins, Stacy Watkins, Ashton Watkins, Kimberly Watkins, Casey Watkins, all of Little Rock, Arkansas.

Duncan accomplished a lot in his life and was most proud of his military service as a tank commander, 3rd armored Division in Germany, active duty. He also was President and CEO of Miller Stauch Construction Company of Kansas City and built over 150 buildings. As his focus shifted to the world of finance he became Executive Vice President and manager of the metropolitan department at Commerce Bank. He later moved to Little Rock, Arkansas and was employed by JB Hunt as CEO and President of their banking facilities. Prior to his retirement in 2001, he was CEO and President of Lenders Title Company, helping make it the largest title company in Arkansas.

Some of his fondest moments were serving as President of Indian Hills Country Club, being elected to the board of directors of Kansas City Builders Association and Associated General Contractors.

Duncan attended the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri and was a member of Phi Kappa PSI.

In his leisure time, Duncan was an avid golfer and enjoyed all sports especially his KC Chiefs and Kansas City Royals.

Duncan and I worked together for several years at Lenders Title. I will always be grateful for those career and business opportunities. We were always striving to the best, but he wanted to have fun on the road to success. We were able to both. My condolences and prayers to all family members.

I have just learned of Duncan's passing and I would like to express my sympathy to his extended family. He was a good friend and golfing partner at both Pleasant Valley and Country Club of Arkansas. He and Dee shared many fun outings with my wife Donna and I on the golf course. We also shared couples dinners with his many friends. We will miss him greatly.

I first met Duncan at Kimberly's house, and immediately loved his joy for life, engaging conversations and eagerness to get to know a stranger. His standing 10am Sunday morning visits to Kimberly's house became a staple, and something you could set your watch by. I am very sorry for your loss; I can only imagine how much Duncan will be missed. I hope your precious memories will help during these difficult times. Pascal
