Michael Taylor Cox, age 77, of Pleasant Grove, passed away at home, Monday, January 17, 2022. Mike was born October 8, 1944, in Vivian, Louisiana, the son of Claude Taylor and Mae Glenn Cox. Mike was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed golfing, working in the yard, driving his lawnmower, and watching various sports events. He married Sharon Copeland, March 2, 1974, in Vivian, Louisiana. He attended Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana on track scholarship. He worked in the oil and gas industry for 50 years, working his way to General Manager for Halliburton, and later returned to sales where he retired from Monkey Pumps. He loved his children and grandchildren and loved watching them participate in their sporting events and other activities.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Cox, of the home, son Brian Cox, daughters and son-in-law: Julie and Keith Kirk and Stephanie Cox, brother and sister-in-law Glenn and Ann Cox, sister Ann Rawls, grandchildren: Tyler and Jennifer Kirk, Jared Kirk, Sarah Kirk, and Mason Kirk, his niece Laura Latham and her husband Jeff and their children, Alexis, Gunnar, Grace, and Ryker; his mother-in-law Geraldine Copeland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his niece Tracy, and his father-in-law Junior Copeland.
Graveside services will be 11:00 am Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Pleasant Grove Cemetery with Pastor Billy Sutton officiating. Visitation will be 5-7:00pm Wednesday at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View.
Pallbearers are Keith Kirk, Jared Kirk, Mason Kirk, Tyler Kirk, Mark Davis, and Darius Brown.
Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.
