of Helena, AR
April 23, 1932 - January 15, 2022
Callie Mae Swango Brandon of Helena, Arkansas, was born April 23, 1932, to Raymond Dare and Kate Taylor Swango of Como, MS. She went to be with her Lord on January 15, 2022. Growing up in Como was the best of times, and her friends, the Como Crowd, tried to see each other as often as possible up into their eighties. She graduated from Ole Miss where she was a Chi Omega, Campus Favorite, and an avid Rebel fan.
Of great importance to her was Explorer's Bible Study where she had been a leader since 1985. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Helena.
Preceding her in death are her parents and her sister Peggy Swango DuBois. Left to miss her are her children, Betsy and Howard Woodyard of Little Rock, AR; Cissye and Billy Mounger of Jackson, MS; Craig and Pat Harcourt of Memphis, TN; Bill and Stefanie Brandon of Orlando, FL; her grandchildren, Cooper Huff, Ross (Rebekah) Brandon, Kate Taylor (Cam) Medina, Callie (Reid) Wesson, Dare Harcourt, Catherine (Matt) Glover, Carter Brandon, William (Maggie) Mounger; her great-grandchildren, Liam Medina, Philip and James Wesson, and Elle Glover. Her friends are many and very much loved.
Her family will gather for graveside services at Como's Friendship Cemetery. A celebration will follow on Callie's 90th birthday.
Memorial donations may be sent to Explorer's Bible Study, PO Box 425, Dickson, TN 37056, or a charity of your choice.
