Beverly Jo Oswalt

of Conway, AR

March 28, 1948 - January 9, 2022

Longtime Conway resident Beverly Oswalt was accepted into Jesus' loving arms on the evening of Sunday, January 9th.

Bev, as she was affectionately known to her friends and family, was born in March 1948 in Memphis, Tennessee. She earned her EdD Doctorate from Memphis State University. She taught for 44 years, first teaching high school, then moving on to university classes. She taught at several universities around the country, in Chicago, Texas, and Arkansas. She retired from teaching in 2015 while at the University of Central Arkansas.

She was a lifelong seeker of knowledge, even after she retired from teaching; she enjoyed sharing that knowledge with anyone who wanted to know it. To know Beverly was to love her. She was a kind soul, a math genius and a more giving, selfless person could simply not be found. More than anything, Bev loved her grandchildren and her little white dogs, Mattie, Kinzee and Bella.

Beverly was a Child of God, Intercessor, lover of Israel and its people. Her relationship with Jesus and the Holy Spirit was her passion and she shared it with all who would listen. Something she liked to say was, ''There is no expiration date on the bottom of your feet.'' Meaning we never stop learning and sharing that which we learn. It was her life's work to learn and teach; regardless of subject.

Beverly leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Diamond Oswalt of Gig Harbor, Washington; treasured friend Carla Barber of Conway, Arkansas; bonus son and daughter, Derek and Amanda Price of North Little Rock, Arkansas and her grandchildren; Violet & Ashton Oswalt, Oliver, Teddy & Henry Price, as well as a host of friends and former students.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, William A. Oswalt Sr. and Zennette Oswalt and brother William A. Oswalt Jr.

A memorial service for Beverly will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022, 11:00 am, at Living Water Church located at 516 3rd Avenue, Conway, AR 72032. Her loved ones want to have a time of fellowship after the service. Refreshments will be served.

In lieu of flowers, Beverly's loved ones request donations be made to organizations dear to her:
