Mary Mae Gray

of North Little Rock, AR

August 14, 1929 - January 8, 2022

Mary Mae Miles Gray, 92, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, stepped into Heaven on January 8, 2022. Her parents were Floyd Evan Miles and Floy Mae Morgan Miles. She was born at home in Carlisle, Arkansas, on August 14, 1929. She was married to Doyle Gray for 62 years before he died in 2011.

She is survived by their daughter, Karen Gray Woody; husband, Joe, of Maumelle; two grandsons, Jody Woody and wife Karen, of North Little Rock, Jason Woody and wife Lori, of Maumelle; a great-granddaughter, Addison Howard; and a great-grandson, Logan Howard, of North Little Rock. The grandsons along with their loving wives and great-grandchildren, were her pride and joy. She also loved her three granddogs, Snuggles, Sadie and Charlie, especially their wet kisses.

Mary had a loving niece, Becky Askew, of Royse City, Texas, who always treated her like she was her own mother. Becky made many sacrifices to do numerous things for Mary, which made her feel very special. Even giving her a 90th birthday party in Texas. When she lived with Karen for seven years, it was Beck who would spontaneously call and plan a vacation for Mary to go to Texas to give everyone a break. What a gift Becky!

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Evan and Floy Mae (Morgan) Miles; husband of 62 years, Doyle Gray; sister, Annette Ames; and brother, Floyd Even Miles, Jr., both of Texas; a sister-in-law, Marlene Smith, of Louisiana; a brother-in-law, Lelan Chamblee, of Ward, Arkansas; brother-in-law, Bob Ames; a niece, Mary Ann Carusi; and a nephew, Tom Fitzgerald, all of Texas.

Mary is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Pat Chamblee of Ward, Arkansas, and Maye Miles, of Texas; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
