Shirley Sloate, age 90, of Louisburg, Missouri, passed away Monday, January 3, 2022, in Missouri. She was born October 22, 1931, in Helena, Arkansas, the daughter of Sydney and Memorie (Pennington) Polston. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde Sloate; her sister, Judy Gregory; and her granddaughter, Angie Baldwin. Shirley was a Christian and attended church in DeWitt, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and worked in the retail industry.

Shirley is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Melinda Blair; her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Ronnie Fridell; four step-children; five grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.

Private interment was in Thompson Cemetery in DeWitt, Arkansas.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Larry and Beverly, I was so sorry to hear of Shirley's passing last week. I remember fondly all the times we would "fish" in the ditch in her and Memi's back yard, garden, pick figs from the tree in the backyard, play cards while Memi cheated, etc. Too many memories to list really.
