Janet Lynn Dyal, age 68, of Harrison, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021, at her home with her family by her side. She was born November 5, 1953, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to Lester and Dixie (Hathaway) Still. When Janet was a teenager, Janet's mother married Carl Ham who took Janet and her brothers in as his own.

Janet was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Harrison. She married the love of her life, Ohmer Dyal, on September 2, 2000, in Harrison. Janet and Ohmer moved from Bloomington, Illinois, to Shreveport, Louisiana, to Russellville, Arkansas, to Jasper, Arkansas, and finally they moved to Harrison in 2014. When she was a teenager, she was a clothing model for Stix-Baer and Fuller Department Store in St. Louis. She held several professional positions throughout her career including management with McDonald's, a bookkeeper for Walgreens, and she owned and operated Harrison Flowers and Gifts for 16 years. She had an eye for decorating for all the seasons and enjoyed being a homemaker and being with her family and friends.

Janet is survived by her husband, Ohmer Dyal, of the home; her brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Kathy Still; her step-sister, Leslie Still; her step-brother and his wife, Carl, Jr and Mary Ham; her step-sons and their wives, Ohmer, II and Blair Dyal and Peter and Christy Dyal; her step-daughter and her husband, Lisa and Ben Rush; her aunt, Helen Calvert; her uncles, Otis Still, Kenny Still, Karroll Hathaway, Rodney Hathaway, and Sammy Hathaway; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Lisa Steiniger; her stepfather, Carl Ham, Sr; her sister, Catherine Still; her brother, Randy Still; her aunts, Glenda Friedman, Pat Farris, Bonnie Emerson, Mary Bullock, and Lenore Nelson; her uncles, Lionel Hathaway, Richard Still, and Clarence Still; and her step-sister, Amy Byas.


Funeral service was Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Roller-Christeson with Doug Burris and Kerry Liggett officiating.

Interment was in Jasper Cemetery.

Ohmer I am just hearing about Janets passing. I am so sorry for your loss. I've known Janet since 1976 when she and Dixie gave me my first job. I so enjoyed her friendship and that of her family. Please accept my condolences. Sorry I was never able to meet you. God Bless.

Janet was a wonderful lady and Walt’s willing to help. Growing up down the street from Dixie and Carl was a joy! Janet helped so much during my wedding. She was such a kind hearted person and she I’ll be missed. Sending love and prayers to Omar and the family.
