Janie Inell Heavner

of Little Rock, AR

May 6, 1947 - December 15, 2021

Janie Inell Heavner, aged 74, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family. She fought a courageous battle with cancer.

Janie was born on May 6, 1947, in Tupelo, Mississippi to the late Jessie and Esterlee Kirk. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Larry Heavner; children, Tammie Mixon (Tim), Kristy Owens (Stevie), and Glen Heavner (Christy); grandchildren, Whitney Croy (Zack), Kyle Heavner, Brandon Deleon (Michelle), Jessie Witcher (Ben), Tristan Keith (Amy), Avery Owens; and great-grandchildren Allanann, Kade, Keelee, Stone, and Laikeyn. She is also survived by her maiden family of Tennessee, Jerry Kirk, Patsy Kirk, and Vicki Kirk.

Janie's life was devoted to nurturing her family and those in need which was a job she did with pride and did not take lightly. Even after raising her own children, helping to raise her siblings, and children of friends and loved ones, she continued to devote the remainder of her ''retirement'' to her grandchildren. No matter the obstacles, Janie faced, she always took them head-on with a smile on her face and love in her heart. She was a loving, selfless, compassionate, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Visitation will be 10:00-11:00, Friday, December 17, at New Hope Nazarene Church, 5519 Atwood Rd, Little Rock, AR 72206. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the church. Interment will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Brinkley, AR.
