Virginia Lee Kindervater

of Benton, AR

June 26, 1934 - December 11, 2021

Virginia Lee Kindervater went to be with the Lord, December 11, 2021. She went peacefully into heaven with family at her side. Virginia is survived by her daughter, Patty, son, Richard and Cheryl of Hensley, son, Michael and Stacy of Benton, four grandchildren, Eli, Emily, Debra, and Carson, and three great-grandchildren, Brodie, Nolan and Harrison, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews that adored her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerhardt ''Junior'' Kindervater, daughter, Debra, mother, Mary Rounsavall, sister, Mable Brown, brother, Albert Adams, sister Louise Shelton, and sister Evelyn Bolick.

We are sure she is looking down on us wanting us to feel no sorrow because she is at Home with her family and friends that she missed so much but thought about often. Virginia was a wife of over 53 years, a loving mother, a friend, an educator and so much more. She was the glue that kept our family close, and mom's house was home base for any family event. It was her mission to bring her family together as often as she could, and you can bet, if she wasn' t going to get to see you, she was going to call and talk and talk.

She began teaching at the First Lutheran School with her inseparable friend and sister-in-law, Lois. The church offered to pay for a course at UALR for them both and that was the beginning of college for many years to come. She worked tirelessly earning her bachelor's and Master's degrees in education while raising a family of four. You could say her kids were some of the youngest college attending students, as she would read college text to them while holding them in her arms because there wasn't a lot of time to study otherwise. Virginia was in education for 35 years, and during that time progressed from classroom teacher to principal of Baseline, Cloverdale, and Joe T. Robinson elementary schools. It was a tough job she really loved, worked hard at, and did well. She loved her students and loved and appreciated her staff.

Virginia was a wonderful writer and she so enjoyed writing children's books and often using her own children or grandkids as characters in the book. Her books were filled with elaborate illustrations to boot! Her creativity was truly a gift.

As MANY people can attest, mom was a prolific gift giver. She always seemed to have gifts on standby for any occasion (thanks to QVC). It gave her great joy to do so. So many times, there was an unexpected guest at Christmas, but you can bet they didn't leave her house empty-handed. When she found out they were coming, or if they unexpectedly showed up, back to the bedroom she would go to get something wrapped for them. What a kind heart she had!

Virginia was a proud and active member of First Lutheran Church for over 65 years and adored her church family. It was where she was married, had her children baptized, and taught in the children's school.
Virginia left the following words of comfort for her friends and beloved family:
''God loves you ALL!! You need help for anything-look to God-He answers prayer! Hold on to your faith in God-you will always have his love and support! ~Mother Grandy.
P.S. Love you, love you, love you forever - for always and always!!!!!''

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to First Lutheran Church, 314 E 8th St, Little Rock, AR 72202. To honor Virginia's vibrant personality, the family invites those attending to wear vibrant colors.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:30 A.M., Saturday, December 18, 2021 at First Lutheran Church, 314 E. 8th Street, Little Rock, AR. Funeral services will commence at 11:30 A.M. with interment following in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
