Richard Griffin

July 21, 1966 - December 5, 2021

Richard Griffin was a loving and caring son, grandson and friend. He passed away suddenly on December 5, 2021 at age 55.

He was born to Lucy and Mark Griffin on July 21, 1966 in Washington DC. He loved his parents very much, and was so proud of his father's military service in D-Day Plus 1 and the Battle of the Bulge in WW2, and adored his mother's cooking-especially her spaghetti and meatballs. After graduating from Putnam City North High School in Oklahoma City, he attended Oklahoma State University and graduated with a degree in Business Management. Richard enjoyed a successful career including a Corvette parts internet business, restaurant equipment sales, and restaurant management in the Dallas area.

Richard loved music and was an accomplished drummer and guitarist. He enjoyed playing with his band Project B in the 1990's, and even produced a CD. A lifelong football fan, every Fall you could find Richard cheering on his beloved OSU Cowboys and Dallas Cowboys.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Richard. In the last 10 years he enjoyed many trips with his old high school buddies. They spent several long weekends fishing, canoeing and boating the lakes and rivers of the Arkansas and Missouri Ozarks. He was especially fond of wintertime swift water canoeing.

Anyone that knew Richard loved his larger-than-life personality and sense of humor. He had a million funny stories-but none better than when he jumped his parents new Oldsmobile over a retaining wall and through two mailboxes, all while his mother and father watched on in disbelief.

Richard's happy personality was contagious to everyone he met, and he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his mother Lucy.

Richard was another uncle for Jack, Julie and I. It was never a question that he would do anything for those around him. He was a funny man and a talented man, but above all he was a loyal man - that was clear. Rich was family, through and through. We miss you so much

Lucy -
Our hearts go out to you during this very difficult time. Remember all the good memories you shared during his lifetime. Years ago, during our many visits with his Grandmother, Esther, she always spoke so fondly of him and loved him dearly. With deepest sympathy --

Richard was a very kind, funny and generous man. I had the privilege of helping he and his mom Lucy buy a home here in Little Rock and we had so much fun and many laughs throughout the process. He was a devoted son and a loyal friend to our mutual acquaintances here in town. He will be missed.
