May 18, 1926 - December 2, 2021

Lester Lowell Spriggs, age 95 of Greenbrier, Arkansas passed from this life on Thursday, December 2nd, 2021 at Greenbrier Nursing and Rehab in Greenbrier, Arkansas. He was born in Clayton, New Mexico on May 18th, 1926 to Lloyd Spriggs and Bertha Scott Spriggs. He married Edna Johnson of Weatherford, Oklahoma. He was a loving husband for 69 years and a brother, uncle and friend to many.

Lester was a United States Army Veteran and proudly served in WWII. He worked at a power plant in New Mexico for many years. He loved old cars, working on the farm and raising cattle. He enjoyed traveling. He and Edna traveled all over the United States including Alaska. He never made it to Hawaii. Most of his traveling was done in an RV with his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Cliff and Lova Roach. Lester was a bit accident prone and most of his bones were held together with rods and screws. He fell off of a house and had two broken arms and a broken jaw. Edna had to feed him. He also had a tree fall on him and an electric door closed on him. Lester was greatly loved by his family and will be missed.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Edna Johnson Spriggs of Greenbrier; one sister, Lenora Foster and husband Bob of Truth or Consequences, NM; and many nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

Lester is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Bertha Spriggs; and his brothers, John, Millard, Emery and Raymond.

Funeral services for Lester will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 8th, 2021 at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Trevor McCallister officiating. Burial will follow in Marshall Memorial Gardens where Lester will be laid to rest with military honors. Bearers will be Stephen Treadwell, Steve McCallister, Cliff Ferguson, Harrison Ralph, Jim Green and Mike Roach.

Saddened to hear of the passing of Uncle Lester. You have been missed over the years and thought of very often. You made me laugh till I cried, you were always making the most of whatever situation our family would be in. You taught me how to iron, teaching me with your old handkerchief in nanas loving room. I’ll always cherish the time and adventures with you Uncle Lester. Sorry Aunt Edna, we Love you dearly.
Love,
Chalyce, Payton, Piper and Weston.
