Robin Suzanne Loyd

of Osceola, AR

February 6, 1962 - December 1, 2021

Robin Suzanne Loyd, 59, of Osceola, died Wednesday, December 1, 2021. She was born in Alexandria, Louisiana on February 6, 1962. When she was still a baby, our parents moved back to Arkansas. She was a school teacher for the Osceola School District and was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Osceola, where she sang in the choir. She was frequently asked to sing for special occasions, such as weddings or funerals, giving her the moniker ''The Wedding Singer.'' She felt that singing was her best way of worshipping the Lord and sharing her love with others. She was a proud Arkansas State Indian, graduating with her BA in education. She later earned her MA in literacy from Walden University. She was named one of the best teachers of the year in 1989 by the Walt Disney Educational Foundation. She was known for her love of animals and had an enormous collection of Peanuts memorabilia. Some students called her ''Ms. Snoopy'' because that was always the decorating theme of her classroom. She also loved travelling, especially camping with her family and cooking and spending times with friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Barbara Felts and JC Loyd of Wilson; her grandparents, Anna Mae Walker and Thomas Franklin Felts of Joiner and Ruby Ward and Carl Loyd of West Memphis; by one brother, Roger Glenn Loyd of Osceola and her beloved dog, Belle. She is survived by one sister, Donna Loyd and her husband, Kevin Hilton of Blytheville; one sister in love, Karen Patterson Loyd of Osceola; two nieces, Jessica Ford and husband, Eugene, of Jonesboro and Michele Baldridge and her husband, James, of Brookland; two great-nieces, Kauri Rose and Genivieve Suzanne Ford of Jonesboro ; one great-nephew, Liam Baldridge of Brookland; two uncles, Carl Loyd Jr. and our beloved Aunt Betty of Elmer, Louisiana, and Bill Felts of West Memphis; two aunts, Helen Hutcherson and Juanita Murphy, both of Tomball, Texas; a host of cousins who were like siblings to her; her many dear friends who were family to her; and her dog Sadie. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: First United Methodist Church in Osceola or to any Animal Rescue Organizations.

I'm so sorry for y'alls loss. Robin was a great person. I enjoyed working with her at East Elem for many years. I will forever think of her anytime I see something with the Peanuts on it. I've been out of touch with my East family since leaving there in 2012, but I will never forget them. Sorry I just found out of her passing. My deepest condolences for your loss.

I met her when she practice taught my fifth grade class at Wilson Elementary. We then became neighbors on Adams Street. She was such a wonderful friend to me and my family. She was an amazing “advisor” to me. Helping me keep my nose clean and always lifting me up. I truly loved her. I only wish I would have stayed in touch with her more. I love you Robin. You will always be in my heart. Big hugs!!!

Robin,
Words can’t begin to express the pain in my heart I felt when I received the news of your passing. You were always a person who could light up a room simply just by entering in. Your smile embraced everyone around you, your hugs made my heart smile, and your kind heart, made everyone around you feel safe. This may not sound metaphorically correct, but to those that knew you knows exactly what I’m talking about. Like the Word say in Isaiah 55:8 (paraphrasing) God’s ways are not our ways….ergo Robin….her smiles, hugged you, her hugs made your heart smile, and her kind heart, made you feel safe… now this may be the opposite of what these things mean to others, but this is just who she was to us. She didn’t sensationalize anything, just pure unadulterated love….. that’s who she was… and I loved her so! Oh how she will be missed! Rest Well Sweet Angel! Take your place in heaven now…. your work here on earth is complete… now life eternal begins…. no more pain… no more heartache…. no more sorrow….just a mirror image of who you were on earth! Rest Well! 👼👼 👼

I am so sorry to hear of Ms. Loyd’s passing. She was a big part of my life growing up in Osceola. As my cheerleading sponsor and mentor, we spent countless hours together. We weren’t as close after I moved away, but when I’d see her again every few years she’d give the best hugs and remind me I was loved. She will be missed.

Dearest Donna and family ~ I am so very saddened to learn of Robin's passing. She remains one of my favorite high school friends, classmates and bandmates! Though distance kept me from seeing her over the years following our graduations from RIvercrest and ASU - we kept in touch via Facebook and I also recall a group of us, Robin included, sharing stories, laughs and making more great memories at our 25th high school reunion! Your tribute to her truly captures her wonderful spirit, happy character, and giant giving heart- ever ready to pitch-in for a good cause! We have all lost a sincere friend, neighbor and a community leader in Robin and we will miss her terribly Donna. God's grace, comfort and love be with you and your family in the days and weeks ahead. In sympathy, sadness and with love, Norma Stracener
