Robert Mayo "Bob" Root, age 74 of Marshall, Arkansas passed from this life on Tuesday, November 16th, 2021 at John L. McClellan Veterans Memorial Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born in Kingfisher, Oklahoma on January 17th, 1947 to Mayo T. Root and Virginia L. Stotts Root.

Bob was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of The Seventh Day Adventist Church in Marshall. Bob loved his church family dearly. He graduated from Missouri State University with a degree in Topography. Bob was a man of many talents. He ran a commercial greenhouse in Oklahoma for some time and liked to garden. He ran a dog kennel here and still receives calls about the dogs he raised. Bob was an avid fly fisherman. He loved the sport and even tied flies for fishing professionally. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Joy Ogburn Root of the home; siblings, Ed Root and wife Karen of OK, Beverly George of OK, Virginia Oblander of OK and Mayo Root, also of OK; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and good friends who will mourn his passing. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Mayo and Virginia Root.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Sorry to hear about Bob passing. I used to be his UPS driver on Spring Creek Rd and had many interesting conversations with him.thought he was a fine fellow.
