of Sherwood, AR
August 25, 1939 - November 16, 2021
L. Jannette Gunter, 82 of Sherwood, passed away from complications of dementia on Tuesday, November 16, 2021.
She was born to Henry & Clydie Mae Rodgers on August 25, 1939, in Blue Springs, Mississippi. She married J.D. Gunter in October 1960 and moved to Arkansas. Jannette retired from the State of Arkansas in 2003 to care for her ailing husband. While she spent most of her life living in Arkansas her heart remained in Mississippi. She loved to travel and shop, but she was the happiest when she was spending time with her sisters, and brother. After the passing of her sister, Virginia in 1997, she became a second mother to her niece Tammy. Jannette cherished the many hours of late-night telephone conversations and visits she had with Tammy.
Jannette is survived by a daughter Kim (Dave) Higdon, a son Greg (Deanna) Gunter, 3 grandchildren Trey (Megan) Woodruff, Chase Woodruff, Hailey Perez, 1 great grandson Kayce Sheets, and 11 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years J.D. Gunter, her parents, 3 siblings Virginia Davis, Kathryn Davis, and Jimmy Rodgers.
Services will be officiated by Brother Darrell Brown on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 10am at Roller-Owens Funeral Home in North Little Rock, AR.
