Mrs. Katherine ''Kathy'' Ann Macier (nee Walker), age 90, of Gamaliel, Arkansas completed her life's journey on November 6, 2021. She was born January 21, 1931 to parents Eugene (Bud) Walker and Dorothy Helen Standridge (Dot) Walker in Winthrop Harbor, Illinois.
Kathy was known to everyone by the nickname ''Dolly'', she was born in and grew up in Winthrop Harbor, Illinois attending Zion High School. She married Richard D. Koschalk of Waukegan, Il. on May 5, 1951, and together they raised five children until his passing on June 18, 1973. In 1974, Dolly met Donald (Don) Macier and they married on October 11, 1975. Kathy and Don moved to Gamaliel Arkansas where she worked at the Mountain Home Walmart for 35 years, until her recent retirement to care for her son Richard Koschalk, who passed away from Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Kathy enjoyed time walking in the woods and antique shopping.
Kathy is survived by her son Douglas Koschalk of McHenry Illinois; daughters Dianna (Edward) Stoner of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois; Donna Koschalk of Johns Creek, Georgia; and her sister Suzanne Smith of Easton Maryland; grandchildren Jennifer (Jesus) Donato of Gurnee, Illinois; Kimberly (Robert) Dahm of Gurnee Illinois; Samantha Koschalk of Charlotte, North Carolina; Joseph Koschalk of McHenry, Illinois; and Shelby (Jonnie) Varhanik of Morris, Illinois. Great-grandchildren Alex, Giovanni and Omar Donato; Kayla, Jori and Tyler Dahm; and Lydia and Draco Varhanik; along with family members, neighbors, Walmart colleagues and friends - all who will miss the ''feisty Irish woman''. Kathy was preceded in death by her sons: Richard S Koschalk (2020), Ronald D Koschalk (2017); her bothers: Eugene (Gene) Walker (2020) and William (Bill) Walker (2007); husbands: Donald Macier (2013) and Richard Koschalk (1973); and her parents Eugene (Bud) Walker (2003) and Dorothy (Dot) (Standridge) Walker (2006).
A memorial service will be held at a later date, In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a favorite charity.
I ALWAYS TRIED TO FIND KATHY WHEN I CAME TO WALMART . SHE WAS SWEET LADY & I SURE WILL MISS HER I COME TO THE STORE !!

My oh my, it seems like just a few years ago when we met you and Don back in 1985. It was always so nice to see you and visit about old times. I always looked forward to seeing you at Walmart because not only were you very helpful but always smiling. When you would see me in another aisle you made it a point to say hi, chit chat, and that was sweet. You will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Kathy's passing. She was a friend when I worked at Walmart.
I worked at Walmart with Kathy for 25 years. She was a very sweet friend. I loved her very much. I met her daughter when she and Kathy came to our Walmart luncheon. That was the last time I saw her.
